I've never been to a restaurant or cafe on my own before, not because I'm incapable, just because I've never wanted to. But today I had no choice, as I was early for an appointment and so had over an hour to kill, and was getting hungry. So I went into a cafe and had a sandwich and a drink. I felt a bit self-conscious and worried in case people were looking at me - even though there were other people who were eating alone too. But I just played on my phone and tried focusing on enjoying my lunch.

Eating alone in the daytime in the cafe isn't considered weird where I come from, as lots of people do eat alone.

Well done for doing that. I have the same problem with public places, using buses, and acting in films. I get too much adrenaline surging through me. It's not a nice feeling.

I do that! :D
I’ve adjusted myself to it by always going to one of two different places, and always ordering the same things.

Remember and eat healthy food. It helps with your anxiety. Junk food is terribly addictive, unfortunately.
