I'm planning to head out from my Central Illinois home and drive down to Land Between the Lakes on Western Kentucky for an overnight backpack. The trails are open, currently, and backpacking is being allowed.

The only thing that is making hesitate is a,few warnings I've encountered that suggest that if I had an accident, I would require medical assistance which could contribute to an already overtaxed healthcare system. The same is true anytime we get in our cars, of course, which means it's probably best not to even drive unless it's an essential trip.

Just inviting some feedback on this timely issue. I'm at at about 70% probability that I will stick to my plan.

Well, I won't need gas, and I have all my provisions. I'm just driving to the trailhead, hike in, camp out hike out, and drive back home to quarantine.

Lockdown or shelter in place, not quarantine.

If you were quarantined, the last thing you should do is to go anywhere except the doctor's office of the hospital. Or maybe the morgue.

Anyway, if I could afford the costs and the time, I'd love to spend the summer at a small fishing camp on a remote lake in Canada accessible only by a float plane (I've never ridden in a Beaver -- that would really be fun). There are a number of lakes where there is only one fishing camp and no other humans anywhere around the lake.

Just arrange for an airplane to fly supplies in once every week or two. Supplies would, of course, include newspapers since that would be about the only news one could get.

Actually, I'd love to do this even if there were no pandemic.
