Yes, I think so.
For me it was science (psychology, a tiny bit of neurology) that got me knowing what I was, and religion that gave me motivation to keep going. I also had to develop the distinction between just "masking," which is pleasant but false, and actually trying to become a better person--which is very slow, but at least genuine. Probably more genuine than I am.
Anyway, that's how things are, and though I have a lot of problems I also have way more joys and live a very intense life even if at times I don't seem to be doing much of anything. My Aspergers' skills are going to work--I can help my fellow students in college both with their personal struggles & with their studies. I can also write. Things are going well and I am happy.
I'm glad your medication helped you out and got you in a good place--but is there a pun in "I toke medication?" Then again, with the trial of medical cannabis, perhaps it's not such a punning joke after all. Just happy you are feeling better!
