I can't help feeling that there may be something wrong with me, mentally. I am over 60 years old, never wanted kids, so never had them. I haven't been able to even if I changed my mind ever since I had a hysterectomy in my mid-40s due to cancer. And now I would be too old to have kids if I wanted them, but I still don't want any of my own. Don't mind others having them. This is a personal choice we all have to make for ourselves. What does this have to do with the National Debt?

Well, there is no way those currently alive in the USA can pay down this monstrous debt, which means future generations will have to pay it off. What really drives me nuts about this is that I, who has never wanted kids, and doesn't have any kids, am terribly concerned about the horrible financial burden we are putting on future generations. Meantime, people with kids, and our so-called representatives in the House and Senate, in BOTH parties don't care a whit about what they are all doing to their descendants.

This craziness forces me to ask, "Am I crazy, or is the rest of the country?" So far all that comes back in answer is the sound of crickets.

This is something that has always bothered me--it's not a new thing for me. Also, although I don't have kids, I do have one nephew. I lost touch with him when he was in his teens, but one of my brothers recently was able to get back in touch with our nephew and gave me the contact info too, so I was able to send him Christmas and Easter cards. His B-day is in early July, and I will send him a B-day card too. According to my sister, who had a little more contact over the years, our nephew went thru some hard times, but he's married now, with a little stepdaughter, and a child of his own on the way. He's in his 30s now, so this may be helping him to get along better in life now. I want them all to have a good life. Things like an out of control National Debt are a danger to them and all future generations.

I don't think I'm the crazy one for wanting to rein in the National Debt. I can't help wanting to shake the politicians till their teeth break off, to try to shake some sense into them, while screaming full blast into their faces, "Stop spending our future into the grave, and just do the right thing!" It just gets me so frustrated, because I know that they know what the right thing to do is, but they continue to do the wrong things anyway. If they would just stop putting pork into every bill, and stop any other government waste, that alone would eventually be enough to gradually reduce the National Debt.

Guess I'm going to have to continue figuratively bashing my head against the wall. :wall:

Sorry for the rant, but sometimes I need to vent, and I am an introvert who lives alone, so there isn't anyone here to vent to except the occasional spider. I vent on spiders by killing them, so they aren't any help regarding anything conversation related.

Everyone, try to keep well!
