I suppose they're good for increasing your vocabulary on a topic, so to speak, if someone's found a better way of explaining it than you have yourself.

but for me, this book made me realize that people are exactly what they are and it wasn't up to me to change them. By staying with such people for as long as I did robbed me of a life.
