What things make you want to tell someone "Grow up, shut up, and get over it"?

Specifically, what are the things either don't bother you any more or never bothered you at all, and that someone else seems to obsess about and overly dramatize at every opportunity?  Here are a few examples:

You might want to tell someone to "Grow up, shut up, and get over it" if...

... a person could be functionally illiterate and still be their boss.

... only 15 people have 'Liked' their selfies since you posted them last year.

... the one nasty thing someone said about them ten years ago makes them feel worthless despite the thousands of people giving them compliments ever since.

... the songs they danced and dated to as a teenager are now being featured in commercials for senior incontinence products.

... their maid-of-honor showed up to their 25th anniversary party wearing the same clingy, sexy outfit she wore to their wedding reception.

... they have received only 'practical' gifts since their 13th birthday.

... they just learned that they were never as important to someone as they thought you were.

... they recognize the latest lottery winner on TV as the homeless person to whom they gave five dollars last week.

What other examples can you offer? (No names, please.)

Warning going to get political.

Those that can't get over that and won't accept that Trump won the 2016 election.
Those that can't get over their schadenfreude that Hillary lost the 2016 election.
Those that can't get over and won't accept that Obama was President even though he has not been President for almost 3 1/2 years now.
Those that can't get over and won't accept that Bernie Sanders did not win the 2016 Democrat nomination and is not going to win the 2020 one.

You might want to tell someone to "Grow up, shut up, and get over it" if...

... their favorite childhood entertainer was recently outed as a multiple sex offender.

... their prom date ditched them for someone else way back in high school.

... there is only one item they ever ordered at their favorite restaurant, and it has been removed from the menu.

... they consistently get turned down for jobs for which they are under-qualified.

... they never went to the prom in the first place.

I wanna scream, "Grow up, shut up, and get over it!"

It could make a nice song. Hard rock music would suit it, don't you think?

...when their girlfriend ditched them after years of irresponsible and selfish behaviour over two years ago: but they’re still trying to work out a scheme to get back with her.

...when they focus all their dissatisfaction with their own life on the monarchy and moan about it ad nauseam.

...when they interpret every political event they disagree with as either a personal attack or “persecution” of their cultural group.

...when they assume that every opinion contrary to their own must be held in bad faith and a spirit of resentment.

@magz: I can hear it now, vocals, guitars and drums in lockstep stop-start rhythm.
More bass! More treble! No mids! ALL the gain!

S'right ... if they'd wanted one of their own in the White House, they should have nominated someone who could win the popular vote in every state.

Then again, for those who still blame Obama (or the Clintons) for the state of this country today, here's a little song they might like...

They're over 18 and 'bored' during a pandemic and feel like telling strangers they're 'bored'. Get a hobby...

They're over 30 and their only hobby used to be getting drunk at the weekend

They judge on looks/employment status when it's a platonic friend or stranger... None of your business...

They get 'lonely' in the middle of a pandemic despite living with family and having access to social media...

They're NT and can't accept that autistic people might have something to teach them...

You might want to tell someone to "Grow up, shut up, and get over it" if it upsets them that ...

... an attractive stranger walked right past them without even saying 'hello'.

... no one is impressed with their appearance, interests, or opinions.

... somewhere, a wealthy family is waiting out the coronavirus pandemic in their 12-bedroom mansion.

... somewhere, an anonymous woman is getting a legal abortion.

... somewhere, someone got hired for their qualifications, and not for their disability or minority status.

... somewhere, someone is making a legal purchase of a handgun.

Yes, you have to stay in.
Yes, you have to wear a mask outside.
Yes, your social life is curtailed.
Yes your job/income is probably threatened/cut back.
There is a deadly disease loose, others have lost or are losing their lives.

Accept the rules, they are there to protect us all.
Ranting about the unfairness just makes it harder for the rest of us.

Yeah, I know the feeling. There's a dude on this website who seems to have nothing better to do than police the content for minor infractions. Not too long ago, this person felt the need to report a light-hearted thread simply because it technically was against the rules. (I believe it was about sexual fetishes.)

The thread was going along fine, no issues. I certainly would have loved to tell this individual to, "Grow up, shut up, and get over it." Don't make a problem where this isn't one.

Welcome back Veggie!

And...yeah I remember that recent thread. And that particular person doing that.

Everybody has something that irks them about how others cant see the obvious.

There is a particular low level supervisor I work with who gets surprised and upset by a particular harmless thing that happens on the job. The problems are (a) this harmless thing has happened to her (and to everyone else in the company) just about every day of the whole fifteen years she has worked for the company (but she STILL acts surprised by it), and (b)its a thing that NO person with common sense would EVER be surprised by -even the first time it happened.

Does your home really suck that much? Is your family that godawful? Have you no interests?
This must be the case for the people who keep complaining about how horrible it is to stay at home for a few weeks. In order to save a lot of lives and prevent serious disease and complications for even more.
These people seriously need to grow up, shut up and get over it. Oh, and realize that, no, these temporary precautions do not mean the government is out to get them or stomp on their rights.
This really shouldn't be hard to get or hard to do.

I want to say get over it when I hear people constantly complain about things that are within their power to change.
