Well I just ordered 78$ dollars worth so I sure hope I like it. But yeah I thought maybe it would help a little with stress relief whenever I am hanging out at home and getting worried about nothing for no reason. Like if I am feeling worried/anxious or stressed maybe I will try and play around with that to help calm my mind. Also admittedly the little kid in me was like (OMG these all look so cool, can't we just get them all its like play-doh but cooler!) but of course the more responsible adult in me was like (alright we're already up to 78$ we cannot purchase anymore this time). So yes I just purchased 78$ dollars worth of various Crazy Aarons thinking putty... would have been closer to 65$ but they had a limited edition type with an actual sprinkling of rocks from the moon(I suspect the could only get a very limited quantity of moon rock dust and that is why its limited edition) and well how could I resist putty with material from the actual moon in it? So I had to add that one to the order.

So yeah I hope it was worth it, ha ha...worst case my cousin has a little boy, he's like 4 or 5 so worst case I could donate some to him cause what little kid doesn't like to play with putty?

Also has anyone else gotten any...and if so what do you think of it, would you spend nearly 80 dollars on it?

i spent [perhaps foolishly] nearly 80 samolians on a rudimentary record cleaning machine. really a narrow rectangular box with a spindle hole on either side of the top, you put a plastic record clamp's spindles in the holes, pour in cleaning fluid, spin the record past submerged goat hair brushes on either side until the record is clean[er] than it was. clean records are my brain putty, of sorts.

Seems like that could be satisfying to watch at least, especially if there is visible dust or particles that it cleans off. But it has been quite a while since I have taken out any of my vinyls so of course have not had to clean them lately.

I had a little velvety brush that came with some cleaner that you can use while just spinning the album on your record player then flip it to do the other side. But then I lost that so I was just using and old velvet shirt I had with the cleaner stuff instead and that seemed to work ok to.

My boyfriend does not like my vinyl collection, he just doesn't get it...for the amount of room the things can take up, but that is ok we can't like all the same things. I mean he convinced me to give up collecting bottles, but I'm still going to keep a collection of vinyls. I am not mad about the bottles, I mean there really is better decor you can get than bottles that go in the recycling bin.

Well I suspect maybe the moon rock one is thinking of the moon, but not sure about the other ones, guess I will find out when they get here.

oh i still have my 70s-era Audio Technica antistatic cleaning brush that i use for dusty [but not dirty] records i get from the local good will or online. the Vinyl Styl cleaner i got is for the muddy stuff. cleaning records in a too-small sink is a pain. this device should make the task more pleasant.

What does this "thinking putty" do that normal inexpensive Silly Putty cant do as well?

Yes...the stuff is more (for lack of a better word) "psychedelic" than regular Silly Putty.

Comes in array of funky colors. Sometimes holographic colors. And smells, and textures.

Have you ever tried coating the records (not the center of course) with wood glue and peeling that off? I haven't tried that yet, but I heard it's supposed to work well?

On the putty thing. I used to bite on Silly Putty as a kid because I liked the sensation. I have seen the Crazy Aaron's but haven't used it myself.

the records/equipment i have are too precious to risk it, if the stylus got caught in a bit of not quite dried glue goop in microscopic size that eluded my detection, it might ruin it.

Makes sense. I hesitate to try it for the same reason. I don't want to jeopardize my delicate Ortofon MC3 Turbo High Output Moving Coil cartridge I've had since the early 1990s!

your equipment sounds way more high end than mine. i have some 1980s AT line contact job on a denon servo tracer DD table of the same age. still works. the fix-it guy is a long drive away, however. hardly anybody works on home audio equipment in my part of the country. i like ortofons, they seem the most neutral-sounding of all the cartridges i've heard other than the shures.
