Do you hate it when what you are watching on TV or listening to on the radio is interrupted by an emergency broadcast system test?

No.  It is more annoying when an "Earthquake Warning" is broadcast only after the shaking has stopped.

Or the tornado arrives before the warning is issued.

I don’t like the buzzing noises that usually accompany them because it hurts my ears, but I’d rather put up with a monthly (or however often the station does them) test than not have a warning system or not have one that works properly for its entire area if there actually is an emergency of some sort. In other words, I don’t enjoy it, but I understand its necessity and therefore am willing to put up with it.

Yes, because before I realize it is a test I think it is the real thing. Especially lately with all that has been going on.

We get tests, and a real "there is a severe thunderstorm warning for XYZ county, blah blah, blah". And that low pitched tone. Usually more exciting than whatever it is that you're watching at the moment. Doesnt bother me.

Never had it. Probably because:

From where I live... It cannot be afforded.
Due to being in a high risk disaster prone country, I don't think it's wise to do it.

Even so; meh. We're used to it and get this over with.

i used to enjoy hearing the sonorous bass tones of the staff announcer that would recite it. i had it memorized at one time. then they changed it to the automated alert system.

Doesn't bother me - I actually work on those systems. And it's the Emergency Alert System now.

What does bother me is when interfence wipes out the last set of three code bursts on a radio link and the EOM signal is never decoded. Then it hangs on forever until it times out.

That's something I've only heard about on YouTube.

The only test I know of here are from the Civil Defence and consist of sirens going off. The sirens can mean "important message, listen to radio", "air raid" or "the danger is over". We can't hear them well here at all, there is no way we'd wake up from it if needed.
