Sort of! I never had an interest in makeup growing up but in adulthood found myself fascinated by it! I really like east Asian makeup trends, like Korean or Japanese beauty - I prefer the cute, down to earth approach rather than full glam western makeup, but I have a very 'to each their own' attitude about how others do their makeup (or don't wear it at all if they like).

For products, I have a bad habit of collecting way more blush than I need haha - blush has always been my favorite component of makeup and I was always envious of those who had natural flushes so I like to recreate that when doing my makeup. Ironically, a lot of folks say their only go-to product is mascara and that is the one makeup product I hate so I rarely wear it.

What about yourself? I love hearing about what types of makeup others wear.

I spent two hours on makeup and guys wouldn't even approach me.

Like are you kidding me? This stuff doesn't even work, I'm throwing it all out.

Omg i love sfx makeup like that! Makeup has become my special interest for a while. I spend hours watching youtube tutorials.
I am obsessed with finishing a product so i can get a new one, it is just so satisfying to me. I also love scented products, beautiful packaging like guerlain meteorites collection for example, and korean beauty brands. I have about 40 lipsticks, 5 or 6 foundations.
As for favorite brand i love Guerlain and Mac but can rarely afford it so i use Wet n Wild, Essence for eye and lip pencils. And nyx for eyeliner. Most of my makeup products are drugstore brands but i try to buy high end when it comes to foundation or powders.
What are your favorite brands?

Why, thank you, but that's not me, I was just making a joke. :)

But I will say as a fan of the performing arts (musicals, plays, ballet, opera, etc.) I do appreciate the artistry of theatrical makeup.

^ Ah, I see, sorry for the confusion! It's a cool look nonetheless - I do agree about performing arts makeup, it's a fascinating art. I did also appreciate the joke haha, but I felt like a compliment was warranted so I mistakenly took that route instead.

I agree that Nyx, Essence, and Wet n Wild are great for when you want a wide variety of colors/to experiment with different makeup and want to save money - E.L.F. is great for that too. I like TonyMoly and Etude House for Korean makeup and wish that I shopped Korean makeup more often but I don't live somewhere that has shops selling it (I'm envious of people who do, I know there's places in California that do). I also like the more 'everyday makeup' brands like Glossier (not everything, but they're good if you like minimal looks) and if I ever want to spend more money than I need to there's RMS (way too expensive though haha). I'd never heard of Guerlain but I looked them up and I have to agree, the packaging is beautiful!
If you like to play around with color palettes and the like, ColourPop is a pretty popular brand that has tons of affordable eyeshadow palettes and individual pans, as well as other makeup lines.

Nope, it doesn't agree with me whatsoever.
But when I did, all I did was wear lip gloss and eye shadow, didn't really care too much about the brand of it.

Please be sure to buy your makeup from reputable sources since there is a huge problem with counterfeit makeup these days which don't take your health and well being in mind.

Not me.
I could notice 'weight' on my face, even something as simple as baby powder.

More so make-up and layers of it. I barely tolerate anything involving the lips and eye...

Instead, I'm surrounded by stories and accounts of those who do -- most of them coaxed me to study the whole thing, and even so far to suggest make a living out of it because they thought my visual knacks, fine motor and the apparently intuitive grasp of chemistry can handle it.

So... Yeah, I don't know the names for things as usual, experiences only told me to improvise amongst mixes of brands and products available.
But I would figure which make up would less likely melt on summer heat, which is very easy to remove without a make up remover (which I'd put myself whenever the occasion demands)...

Yet no, becoming a make-up artist for others takes more than that;
It requires some gentle handling (or strength control) my hands are habitually 'heavy'.
I do not have 'gentle handling' despite doing a lot of arts and crafts myself I couldn't seem to 'learn' it.
The attempts for gentle hands ends up errors and (literally) painful awkwardness.

And don't get started with doing hair and clothes or costumes along with it.

Otherwise, I've done plenty, yet don't do it for fun.
Most of those I've worked at usually goes for a one time event than a daily basis thing, so I don't get used to it.

I'd rather have someone else over to trust with these kind of things.

Yeah, no enthusiasm here.
Just tech and experience stuff.

Had I've been interested at any point, I would've fulfilled it long ago.

Ah yes thanks for the reminder! saw a documentary on that! some have high levels of cyanide, arsenic, rat poison, urine and paraffin. My mum got me some lovely w7 makeup eyeshadow palettes online but they were legit ones and the quality is good. Meant to be a proper dupe. Used no7 makeup too which is good.

Thank you everyone for replying. it's nice to hear that others like makeup too.
