What type of Bicycle are you talking ? I'd choose a different colour depending on style i.e BMX, Mountain , racing etc.

my current one is blue and i quite like it. so i'll go with that.

bike color is not something i really notice though. it just exists.

I can't answer for you, I'm asking you which one you spend more time doing. If the answer is riding then it's easy to see how one can forget because the colour isn't important to the riding experience.
