Does anyone else not actually post most of what you write in reply to other peoples posts?

Yes. I compose many posts. I submit very few of them. I don't know why.

At least a fourth of my posts are floating around the saved drafts.

Wow you know..

If I did that I would save others a lot of annoyance I am sure. A large part of my replies were unnecessary but felt necessary to me to say so I wrote it.. Not thinking the effect in the moment just the relevance I was able to find to MY world
Which is not a good reason to add to a discussion

I do the same In normal life and try not to (not always successful in restraint) but among family it seems the floodgates open

Good on u for having self-restraint/awareness!! !

Most of the things I write anywhere online usually get deleted or heavily edited into something basically entirely new.

I was also about to make a joke that I didn't edit this post, but then I heavily edited the joke.

Yep, I will sometimes write a post and then deliberately hit the “cancel” button instead of “submit,” and most of the posts I do make, I delete a bunch of rambling and other unnecessary stuff.

I probably write about twice as many replies as I post. I have loads of 'notepad' text files filled with posts and replies I don't bother submitting.

There have been numerous posts I wrote or started to write that never were posted. I used to have word files full of posts I meant to polish and post but the majority of them ended up getting deleted instead.
Also ended up deleting lots of posts within seconds or minutes because I was uncertain about some aspect of them in one way or the other.

When I find myself composing a word salad instead of a concise post, I'll stop, re-read it, and usually delete it in whole or in part; but maybe if I started filling my posts with flowery prose, empty praise, and seemingly endless descriptions of my personal feelings, I would get into a lot less trouble.
