Who here has a phobia of spiders, whether they bite or not? Most people I know do, and I'm no exception. Just looking at a spider gives me the shudders, and I think that if I ever found one on me or if one was thrown at me I will probably vomit in fear or something. Imagine being locked in a shed with loads of big spiders that are obese or pregnant.
The colour, the long legs, the ability to scuttle fast, just makes me SCREAM.
Also I have a phobia of cobwebs too.

But I am NOT afraid of other things a lot of people are, like mice, rats, moths, snakes, frogs, etc (unless something is poisonous or can harm you, but I'm not talking about rational phobias, I'm talking more about irrational phobias).

My BF has a phobia of spiders. He doesn't mind any other creepy crawlies or animals but for some reason he hates spiders and couldn't handle the spider scene in the cave in the Lord of the Rings movie either.

Perhaps it has something to do with how they treat their mates, or how they trap their prey in a sort of suspended animation.

I don’t like spiders being on me unless I have invited them, but that’s it - no actual fear of them for me. No fear of any of the other things listed, either. The only animals that bother me at all are parasites, house centipedes (something about the angle of their legs or something just creeps me out, plus they’re fast), and depending on the situation, sometimes wasps and their stinging relatives (not typically bees, though).

I used to have a phobia of spider but weirdly I overcame it after watching the film Arachnophobia

I like spiders. I apologize to them when I have to disrupt their webs. I pick them up carefully and take them outside if they are interfering with something in my home. The spiders in the corners at the ceiling trap the flying insects like mosquitoes. I think baby spiders are really, really cute.

I love spiders but I panic when they run over me..

I have seen spiders with such a sense of humour! I have seen them run to the person they know is frightened of them and then run away as if they are chuckling to themselves! Hehe!

My GF ( girlfriend ) is convinced the spiders in our house know she is scared of them and that's the reason spiders run at her and never me

Yes. They do that.

I tend to only remember abbreviated terms if they are railway terms.

It does no harm to ask but it defeats the reason for typing it - lazyness

The strange thing is that I keep to simple English words as I know my vocabulary is limited compared to others, but the limited words I use I do tend to use well if that makes sense, so others may hardly notice until I happen to ask what certain words mean. I believe it is how my mind retains and uses information as I have never really grasped other languages.

Pregnant, okay, but obese? Do spiders even get obese? I mean, an exoskeleton only has so much room...

Personally, I like spiders. They're fascinating, pretty cool and always seem to be struggling against unfair odds; continually trying to make an intricate trap only to have something mundane like a leaf on the wind randomly mess it up so you have to start all over. It's kind of cute.

Also, they keep quiet and they make things that are significantly less quiet shut up, so they're quite utilitarian in that sense.
