Here in Oz too.
I've missed the drive in.
Especially the staticky speakers.

I'm guess I'm not surprised since people cant go to movie theaters rite now but I think the attendance at movie theaters here in the US has slowly been going down for a long time now due to online streaming. It's easier & cheaper for people to get together & watch movies at someone's house or watch it from their own houses & chat online or on the phone during the movie. They can watch the movie from an online streaming service, On Demand, pirate it, watch it on cable/satellite, ect. Plus they don't have to buy snacks at the movies or worry about smuggling them in. They can usually buy snacks at a store for a bit cheaper or they can cook food beforehand.

Most drive-ins in my area are closed or are open on limited hours because of the pandemic.

I haven't been to a drive in for years, the one in my suburb was closed but there's still one a few suburbs away.
