How long should you wait before deleting a post due to no replies?

I forget what the exact time limits are, but...

The time window that this site allows you to delete a post is very short. And it's much shorter than the length of time it takes to assess whether or not your post will get replies.

So it's a moot question.

Just post, and dont worry about it.

Ive seen folks start threads that will get NO replies for days. Then suddenly a whole string replies appears. So you never know.

Thanks for your reply. I've never been much good at getting replies . I don't have the knack.

If the only problem is lack of replies, it's not really worth deleting over as it will just disappear into the ether.

If it's embarrassment, that's more of a problem with the whole 'can't delete anything' thing.

I think that makes the site good for the honesty we like as autistic people but bad if we're afraid to make faux pas - something which is quite common if you're autistic & commonly worried about if you're socially anxious like me.

Last I knew, 5 hours was the limit on editing a post.  The same limit was on deleting a post, but only if no one replied to it.

But Alex has been making adjustments lately, so maybe the time-limit has changed.

Personally, if no one responds to a post, no one is under any obligation to delete it.

Must be an embarrassment issue for him.

Ive started threads that got no response. Everyone does.

I think everyone feels that way on here sometimes. That or my SA was playing up when I felt like it.

One thing to remember is that it's not like social media or like a text. People take ages to reply on here. Over a day is normal.
