Personal Dreams You Have

Hey, all. You know, we all have our personal dreams, and sometimes we worry about whether they will ever get fulfilled or not. Let's talk about it here.

One dream I had was that Seattle would get an NHL team. I started to follow ice hockey in 2006, and I was surprised that Seattle didn't have such a team.

Fast forward to today, 15 years later, and the dream has now been realized. It's amazing and nice that I never gave up on that dream. Now, if only Vancouver, BC had an MLB team, and I could visit Japan.....

One dream I had was that I would find an old friend of mine who my mom forced me to never see again just because she believed he was gay. She has not apologized since.

This dream has been starting to come true because I found his address on a free address lookup site and will try to write a letter to him soon.

I've only ever had two dreams. The first was to work with Jim Henson and be a writer for Grover on Sesame Street. I started my Uni program hoping to get a Doctorate in children's reading / literacy education, which was required at the time for their writers. Jim died during my undergrad, so that dream can never be realised.

My second dream won't happen either.

My personal dream is to be someone who can be useful to my friends. Specifically, being a good teacher to my friends' 4 yo daughter for now.

Never worry about money. Never worry about any emergencies. Never worry about expenses of travelling. On top of that, no legal issues involved ever.
No need to do jobs I dislike, hate, or do nothing but stress me out instead of helping me develop. No one tying me down either.

Just choices and autonomy.

In other words, being free from this stupid game. It won't happen anytime soon and not as long as my mom's still alive.

It's very shallow I know, but I still sometimes (literally) dream that my hair has grown back. Or at least that I have enough it to style in such a way that I appear to have a full head of hair.

While I've accepted my baldness (no choice in the matter really), to the extent that I'm not going to wear a wig or pay thousands for a hair transplant, I still think I look better with hair and my shaved head contributes to a harshness in my appearance that doesn't reflect my personality.

I'm running out of time to really benefit from any scientific advancements in this field so if the dream-makers could get a move on...

I'd like to become a teacher, and more specifically a special ed. teacher and/or a teacher to small children (preschool-Kindergarten age).

I'd also like to play Smash Bros. Melee at a professional level, which is one of the more dorky and non-serious dreams of mine, though it'd still be nice to achieve since it'd require a huge gain in fine motor coordination and reaction time for me to do that. lol

My dream used to be to meet Bryan Adams. Now my dream is to have a better life for me & my cat, I want to live with a guy or a female friend, I wish I could live in a house again, have a fireplace. And don’t have to worry about money.
