Why does she have to wear these bizarre pink or violet hats?

To which queen do you refer? There are a few....

Not the red queen though she lives in England. Is it lèse majestè?

According to my sources, she needs to wear very bright colors so she can be visible from far, and a violet hat would have that effect. Also, she has a very simple personal/private style (some people would call it dowdy), so she basically lets the royal stylists pick out her public clothes.

If I were her, I'd be bringing a lot of jewellery out of the safes and onto my neck , and I'd be attending all the British collections to choose next season's clothes. She is one of the richest women in the world, after all, so why not encourage the local fashion industry? and, while we're at it, how about a smile once in a while? I mean, the Pope wears Gucci shoes, jewels, embroidered gowns, hats, and great new teeth, so why shouldn't she?

I am kidding...

Pope John-Paul II, went to Mexico under a sponsorship of CocaCola. So, why not introduce sponsorships for the royal families? But they already do that, I think, with this suppliers of the Royalty on the Twining tea and so many other products: "by appointment of her majesty queen Elisabeth II" . I find this monarchic business a circus to distract people from what really happens. I don't care much though, but it costs a lot of money.

Because she's an insane old woman who can get away with wearing whatever she likes.
