I press it with my elbow, when I've got a long sleeve on.

Or maybe I'll carry a disinfectant round with me and spray the buttons! Can you imagine. I'd be like Dr Niles Crane from Frasier!

Watching the mountain biking on the commonwealth games and then having to switch to the iplayer because the news interrupted the race. So annoying.

The news that just reminds us of how sh***y the world is.

Pet peeve: Health and safety rules. Some make sense, others don't. It's all just a scheme to avoid any accidents at work, even ones with the tiniest chance of ever happening, just so that nobody goes sick that the company would feel responsible for paying sick leave. I think some health and safety rules should be eased a little in extreme weather conditions, for example allowing workers to wear shorts in the hot weather. The chance of becoming overheated or ill from wearing clothes designed for cold weather is greater than the chance of getting a thorn in your leg, for instance.
The way I see it, sometimes you have to rob Peter to pay Paul.

I'm watching that! It was annoying wasn't it. I'm watching swimming now.

I avoid the news like the plague these days, it's so depressing.

When I was a child there would be a germophobic character in a movie who wouldn't touch public door handles, that was considered to be insane. But now it's more normal.

Some of the best places I've worked have had absolutely zero health and safety rules. I've done some highly dangerous jobs as well.

Pet peeve: when someone opens a car door on me when I'm on my bike

When I'm driving and there are erratic passengers in the car ahead of me who keep moving, waving their arms in conversation, leaning over, turning around, or otherwise acting like they're on crack, despite the fact I need to look through their car windows to see the road and we're going at high speed.

In the cinema there was a young woman in front of me who couldn't sit still in her chair.
It was the reclining type of seat that bounced backward.
She kept leaning back hitting my legs, and sprawling over to talk to her friends.

I nearly gave her a swift kick to the head.

I'm noticing this far more often in recent weeks - in Google Chrome, the circular icon in the tab space sometimes spins anticlockwise for a minute or more before the page is located. Should really take no more than a second or two.

I received info about something I'm interested in via the government.
It's for disabled people.
It says to phone them.

I wrote to them on email.
They wrote back with info and told me to phone them.

I wrote back again and said I don't make phone calls.
I asked them to give me more info on email, or for them to ring me.

They wrote again and said thank you for the information.
They repeated what they'd already said.
Then they gave a phone number if I want to know more.

??

It's quite a quandary, indeed.

Especially if this might be to your benefit---maybe you should bite the bullet this time? Or maybe have someone else call?

Again, I'm sorry you're in this predicament.
