I only signed on to WP using the nickname Edal because that's the user ID I use on other groups such as Yahoo. My friends call me Ed.

I assumed your name was Ed,not sure what the "al" stood for but nice to have you on the planet.

People tend to call people by their username unless they know their first name.

This reminds me of a topic that Jason (i.e. Larsen) raised recently about why
everyone on WP didn't use their real names.I haven't seen Jason around the forums
lately.

I don't use my real name because, if I did, supervillains and other enemies of peace, truth, justice, and the American way would know my secret identity. Such knowledge would endanger the lives of those I love.

Of course, I could do a better job of hiding my identity. As of right now, my superhero costume consists of nothing more than a strategically placed sock. I should probably at least start wearing a mask or pants or something.

I'm not brave enough to use my real name.

personally i never liked my name either. i would have preferd my mom to call me ernie. i might change it legally, i just dont feel like a richard anyways
