Apparently we could only go 95 days between dump trucks hitting overpasses:



Not sure how a driver could not realize the dump bed was raised. I suppose it’s possible for them to malfunction and raise while driving or something but wtf.. they can’t all be malfunctioning - there’s been 3 or 4 of them hit overpasses in the last year. Gotta be human error.

Don't you have to have a special license to drive a dump truck? Perhaps there should be some kinda mental health evaluation to get special licenses to make sure that the driver can focus for a few seconds & has at least a couple brain cells.

Pretty sure it comes down to sleep deprivation and falsifying driving records.. like they'll write down in their official log book that they're on the road for 8 hours of driving/day and sleeping/eating etc the rest of the time but in reality they might be driving 16-20 hours or some BS. If it's not sleep deprivation, then it's drugs/alcohol. And if it's not that, then it's inexperience & lack of training/falsifying those things or a properly licensed trucker hiring an unqualified driver and just giving him the keys and telling him to make the most of it. A bunch of this happens with new immigrants that are brought over to be illegally low paid labour for truck driving and these guys aren't necessarily bad people, they're just doing what they have to do to try to live here instead of wherever they wanted to leave - mostly the Punjab region of India.

But yeah, obviously mistakes were made.. very likely human error vs. a technological failure that caused the dump box to raise while driving.
