but right now when i was cleaning my room my trashcan lid flew off my trashcan when i wasnt looking. it was sitting on my bed and the trashcan part didnt fall over, it was still standing. i was picking up chip crumbs from underneath my computer desk when i heard something and caught the very end of it landing on the floor a few feet away. what can this mean? is this some bad news or an accident? :?

I had so many weird things like that happen to me too. Its so creepy, I remember one time when I was in my room, and my radio turned on and started switching channels, and my remote control was sitting right next to the radio, I was like ugh I got to go haha. Things like that happen to me all the time, like when I'll be sitting in my room, and my door opens, or I when I'm sitting on the computer late at night, I get a huge brush or cold air, and then the lights flicker or turn on. I also had one time when my mouse was moving, and I wasn't even near the mouse. I can't explain it anymore.

richardbenson, I believe in the paranormal. However I would question the scene here. You described your trash can positioned on a bed, so the trash can was not perfectly balanced. To add in, if the lid wasn't fitting properly it could have slid off the trash can without the can itself falling over. I like to take a skeptical approach to paranormal experiences. If you can't debunk them it doesn't mean "bad news", culd just mean someone out there is trying to have a conversation with you that you aren't aware of. That sort of thing could be the result of a temper tantrum. :D

im sure its nothing. but i remeber lifting the trashcan onto my bed and it was full of trash so the lid was on good, i didnt want trash all over my bed if it accidently fell over. i heard it though like someone just hit the top part of the trashcan and thats when turned around and i caught it flying off lol

Two things happened recently that are pretty weird. First: About 2 am the CD player in the kitchen went on and Alice in Chains started playing. Everyone was in bed. Second: The next day, also in the kitchen, a picture that was on a shelf fell off and landed with a crash on the floor. No one was in the kitchen either time when these things happened. This is spooky because my grandson who died unexpectedly in May was supposed to go the the Alice concert with my daughter who lives here too. Maybe he even went to the concert, who knows. We think it is him telling us that he can still listen to Alice and Chains when he wants to and we think he is trying to let us know that he is still with us. As for the picture, it was one of my husband's hunting pictures and we think he was trying to say hello to "Pop". It will be interesting to see if he tries to contact me next. I've been asking him to.

well, CC this seems like one of those 'duh' moments, you know, the ones where we believe they can hang out after the physical body is gone and ask for them to show up. . .of course they are going to show up! My father used to walk from bedroom to front room to bed room to front room for a couple of decades. When I was packing up their old place after he passed, I looked up late one night while packing the bookcase and there he was, I now know what a 'shade' is because he was just his shade, walking from the bedroom to the front room. I was so freaked it was a struggle to stand my ground and let him know that mom was waiting where ever she was and wanted him to come to bed. I hope to heaven he heard me and realized he could hang out with mom and not just trudge his earthly beaten path any more.
but I got the hell out of there right after that quick thought to him, I was freaked out more than I wanted to say as much as I do believe that can and is what happens.

I also believe in the paranormal but somthings can be explained such as your trash can.
It's more like basic science. Was there anything inside the trash can? If so, it could have been heat expansion from the inside which would have "popped" the lid off.

Richard, this post gave me the chills. I absolutely love Layne Staley. Not too long ago I was watching a UTube of his performance of "The Rooster", live and unplugged. He looked like the little brother of my grandson Aaron who just died. It was one of the best performances I've ever seen. After I watched the video about six consecutive times, I told my daughter how much I loved it and how much Layne looked like my grandson. That's when she told me he was dead. I said "Please don't tell me he OD'd. She said, "yeah, Mom, he did." I had a little meltdown and was sick for the rest of the day. So now that you mention the possibility of it being Layne's ghost, who knows. Maybe he and Aaron both stopped in to pay us a visit as I am mourning both. That would be so cool if they showed up together like buddies from the great beyond.

Here's the video. I gave my daughter twenty bucks to get me a T-shirt with Layne's picture on it at the concert. They wanted $40.00 which is a rip off. I'm going to get one from AIC web site. My daughter said Layne's replacement is also excellent.

:( Yeah, like think what Kurt Cobain could have accomplished. My grandson who is 5yrs old was born on Cobain's BD and named after him too. But the funny thing is, my daughter ever since she was about 14, was crazy about KC and always said she was going to name her first son after him. She never dreamed he would be born on Kurt's birthday. Pretty amazing.

It would be interesting to know if you have any more paranormal experiences and who you think might be coming to visit you. Has anyone you knew or loved died recently, or have you been thinking of anyone who is gone and who you miss?

I was always a skeptic...until my dad passed away in 95.

We had "problems" with the smoke detectors, lights, radios, the TV's and VCR's for a few months afterwards. After I had moved into my own house and had my son we had a few things that happened here...my son had all those Vtech toys when he was a baby I'd turn them off and sometimes they would just come on later...I remember one time with my ex...he said something to me and there was a toy across the room from him that came on and started flashing and playing away...he jumped about 3 feet.
