There is one glaring flaw in the case for reincarnation: the absence of any valid empirical evidence of a physical process by which a personality could survive death and transfer to another body.

Anecdotes are not evidence.  Belief is not evidence.  Coerced testimony is not evidence.  YouTube videos are not evidence.

And why is it that whenever a person claims to remember a past life, it is always a life of a hero, a member of royalty, or a famous person who already has dozens of other living people claiming to be his or her reincarnated form?

I’ve reincarnation was real I’d be getting off the hook.

One "psychic" tried to convince me that I am the reincarnated form of Empress Myeongseong of Korea, who was murdered in 1895 by Japan's occupying forces for trying to establish political ties with Tsarist Russia.  I didn't buy it.

Literally, I didn't buy it.

She wanted $100 for a full regressive reading going back at lest 5 incarnations, and I turned her down.

Later, I learn she pitched the exact same spiel to at least two other attendees at that "Psychic Faire".

I was there to help my cousin set up her "Make a Dream-Catcher" workshop.  Got a free steak dinner out of it, too!

in at least one previous lifetime i drowned. for much of my early life i had a fear of water esp water in my eyes. in at least one previous lifetime i was strangled, i've had neck problems my whole life and when i was young i had trouble swallowing and have long dealt with respiratory ailments/asthma. in one previous lifetime i was a bounding cad, a user and abuser, and in this lifetime i've been a victim of such psychopaths. i was a downright mean no-good bastard in at least one previous lifetime, and in this life i have long felt bereft of fraternal/companionable love and understanding. i don't expect anybody to believe me, it is enough that i know for myself what i've been through.

Lots of people remember being "boring" or regular others.

i prolly was not anybody famous in any of my lives. but each one made me what i am now, for better or hopefully not worse.

My little white niece spoke of living in Africa, from the time she could talk. Her father had left the village to go find food and never came back. She and her mother were starving. She knew all sorts of chants and words in an African language, and even clapping games from Africa. She had a hard time bonding to her real family because she was so worried about her "other" dad and the dangers that he faced. This went on for a few years to the point her family was video recording it and keeping transcripts.

My son knew Native American Sign Language, and was able to conduct orchestral music with perfect gestures and perfect musical terminology, starting when he was 2.

He happens to be related to Tchaikovsky so that could explain some of the musical savantism, even though he didn't have a special affinity for Tchaikovsky himself.

Her parents didn't even have a TV, and this was in the late 90s so very limited internet, if any.
She was homeschooled so she didn't learn it from daycare.

She knew her own African name as well as her parents and siblings.
I'm not sure about the village name, but I think so.

It peaked around age 4 and then slowly faded away.
She doesn't remember anything about it now except by watching the videos.

Did the words she knew correspond to words in actual African languages?

Yes. Her parents found people who could translate it all.

Much like my son with the Indigenous Sign Language. We didn't have any clue what that was all about. He said it was sign language but it didn't look like ASL so we thought it was just nonsense until we noticed consistent gestures and he started explaining what each movement meant. Then my mother found someone at her work who was able to verify it was Indigenous. He's still interested in Indigenous affairs and completed a Master's degree for the Truth and Reconciliation commission. It's being published by Oxford press.
