For example, what would you put in your hot tea or coffee, to sweeten it?

I personally use brown sugar. It seems slightly more natural and less processed than white sugar.

I think that is a good, healthier option than sugar. I might try it again at some point, though the last time I couldn't get used to the taste.

I used to have sugar in everything but as I've gotten older I've really started to enjoy the bitterness of coffee without any sweetener.

I used to take two teaspoons of sugar in tea and coffee, but reduced it to zero in tea by about age 20, and to zero in coffee by my mid-20s.

Damn, drinking coffee or tea without sugar is hardcore.

True maybe, but I often nullify any alleged benefits by eating an entire packet of chocolate digestives or Jaffa Cakes in an afternoon, lol.

I don't.

Maybe once a year I might put some hone in tea, and if it's a fruit flavoured tea like raspberry or something that tastes weird and bitter without some kind of sweetener then I might add a bit of white sugar.

But normally I just drink black coffee most days, once in a long while just plain tea.

I remember going sugar free probably a decade or so ago. I managed about 18 months of that.

During that time, a did drink black coffee without sugar, but I found it less pleasant than with sugar.

Nowadays I need milk as well as sugar.

I like honey in tea sometimes. That can be really good. I don't like sweeteners in coffee though. I think it gives the stuff a slimy feel and I think that's awful. No idea why it's okay in tea, but not coffee, but that's how it goes for me. *shrugs*

White sugar, which I'm trying to reduce my intake of along with coffee. I have used honey and Chinese rock sugar in the past as well.

Honey, lemon, or sugar.

I don't do fake stuff.

I don't put any sugar or sweetener in my tea, I did when I was younger, but I became used to drinking it with just milk, which sweetens it up enough. On the other hand, I could never drink coffee without it being sweetened up. Lots of people think if you can drink coffee without sugar you're really mature or a "tough guy", but it's really because your taste buds aren't very sensitive, especially as you get older.

I don't trust artificial sweeteners.
So I stick to raw cane sugar, it's sugar that still has the molasses in tact, it gives off a nice caramel taste.
