I been in a group home for over 9 months, I been separate from my cat for over 7 months, I'm afraid she might hate me & feel abandon now. Do you guys think she will hate me?

In my experience, cats may take a while to remember their favourite humans after a long absence, but eventually the penny drops. They may seem resentful at first, but I suspect that may be just humans reading things into the situation.

We had to let somebody look after our cat for a couple of months recently. When we got her back she remembered our home within a few seconds, but it took a few days before she remembered who I was. Another time I had a "visiting cat," and I had to go away for a few months. When I got back he ignored me completely for a week or two, and just ate the food I left for him and went away again. I was convinced he hated me for leaving him, but little by little he went back to normal.

So I wouldn't worry too much.

In my experience cats are just glad to see you when you've been gone a long time, I've never had them be mad. When I'm at college I don't see our cat (I'm her second favorite person) for long stretches of time, but when I come back she just follows me around and rubs against my legs until I pet her (and she only does that with me and my parents, she's very shy with people she doesn't know).

I think your cat will be very happy to see you.

Sorry to hear that. It may take a minute for the cat to come around. I remember I was away on a vacation once, for 2 weeks, when I got home my one cat was super happy to see me. The other meowed at me for over an hour, like he was yelling at me for being gone. He got over it quick
