I had to start this thread after something hilarious my puppy did. He's pretty spicy, and enjoys attacking when you least expect it. Well just now he leaped at me, and I saw him and moved to catch him, and the minute he saw me reaching for him, the geniune disappointment in his eyes was hilarious. I laughed for three minutes straight! Then he went to pounce on one of his toys and I snatched it before he got it and he gave me the most epic side eye EVER! I love animals, so tell me YOUR funny pet stories!

Oh my goodness! What a silly puppy! I love pets so much--they bring such joy into the lives of their owners. What breed is your pupper? ʕ ˵• ₒ •˵ ʔ

I have three kitties, with two of those three being litter mates! I call them my twins, and they are the stupidest, funniest, and cutest little things ever. They make me laugh on the daily. They always pop out to try to scare my partner and I, and they ALWAYS tussle and wrestle with each other. I get a good laugh when they run around the apartment, and jump onto their tower at full speed like a bunch of wild cats. This is a common occurrence after they poop (we call it the poomies instead of the zoomies). ʕ≧ᴥ≦ʔ

I've posted this picture of my twins in my Eye Bleach Positivity thread, but it seems relevant to post here too:

Whenever the landline telephone rang, my min pin Benji would howl like anything. I'd call my Mom and if she didn't answer after a few rings I'd hear Benji howling like crazy in the background.

He knew if it was a very short call that it was the visitor's intercom and someone would be visiting, but that a longer call was someone looking for my mom and she's better answer pronto!

He would also frown while cocking his head to one side when interested in something, like me showing him a video of himself.

He would growl menacingly on hearing the words "rats" or "hadedas" (hadeda ibis, a large noisy bird found throughout South Africa)

my puppy is named Ollie, and he is a cross between a beagle and jack russel. The mix is commonly known as a Jack-A-Bee.

Today, my puppy Ollie, started doing the funniest thing EVER. He figured out that when ever I put his toys back in his crate, that means he's about to go back in as well. So now, anytime I put his toys in his crate, he freezes, and stares straight at me. And as soon as I try to grab him, he starts walking straight backwards XD

My collies both enjoy a bounce on the trampoline in my garden.

My grandparents' dog - Żaba (her name meant Frog; it's a common dog name here in Poland) - was always covering her eyes with her paws when I shouted at her, telling her she's a very bad ratter  She was actually a very nice doggy but someties I had to do this - like when Żaba killed a real frog and started to devour the corpse while lying on the blanket where I was lying too. I instantly called my mom for help, telling her to remove both the frogs - Frog the dog as well as the dead frog from my blanket :D

We had an older Jack Russel once. Her owner died so we had her. She hated water and we had a horrible time trying to cut her toe nails! She had to be sedated by the vet for this. Then the vet would no longer do it without charging thousands as the vet signed a pet insurance contract called Petplan where they had to massively increase their normal prices, so we could no longer do it.
My brother, when he was in his teens had made a BMX bowl in the field and it had filled with water in the rainy weather and the drain for it had got blocked, so it was like a pond. My brother threw her ball the other side of the pond. She lept the small bank before the bowl and was in the air and was expecting to come down into the bowl to get the ball, but to her shock (She hated water) after leaping over the bank she found herself heading towards this large area of water! The panic she had while in the air!
She was full of character but one stupidly stubborn dog!
One thing she hates was flys buzzing, but she never wanted to kill the little things, so she would cleverly catch the things in her mouth and nibble their little wings off, so we ended up with little "Walks" walking across the floor every summer having lost their flying freedoms!

Mom adopted a little neutered female calico.

Then some years later one of sis's friends persuaded her and us, to adopt their large neutered male cat. A well behaved gent dressed in formal gray strips, white vest, and white spats.

In all fairness the female was in the home first, and the male did kinda two time on us with a little boy up the street.

But she would give the male a tongue lashing ...groWALLLLrrrrRAowellll...... While the male would sit there taking it ...intimidated though twice her size. Presumably telling him "we agreed that you would move away to that other family up street, but here you are...still darkening my door".

Often times we would observe her "talking in her sleep" making the same low motion scream plus growl while asleep showing that she was having vivid dreams.

One time when we were all cleaning up the basement she ran around inspecting our work with curiosity and glee.

And...she lead me over to show me something. A group of cat turds in a pile of saw dust. She looked down at them and then up at me with the same look that Claude Raines had when he announced that they were closing down Rick's Cafe in Casablance because "I am shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, to find gambling going on".

She looked like she was 'pinning' (and accurately so) the turds on the other cat, and tried to "frame" the other cat in the eyes of us humans!

We pet owners do have a tendency to anthropormorphize our pets, but...none us ever came up with another explanation for her turd tattling . She really did seem to be showing human-like foresight and abstract thinking in order to get us humans to...kick the other cat's ass out of the house!

Which we didnt. :D

^That's funny.
I had a cat once who I swear used to deliberately try to annoy us. We had a three season porch which had a door for humans to use as well as a window which we kept open in the summer so the cats could go in and out. But in the winter the window was closed, so the cat had learned if she whined at the door, we would let her in.
One day I noticed that she was repeatedly going out the window, running to the door, whining until we let her in, then going right out the window again. She wasn't accomplishing anything, and if she was being indecisive she could more easily have used the window ... so the only explanation I've been able to think of is that she was deliberately annoying us. It does sound anthropomorphic but I honestly don't know what else she could have been thinking.

I've had 3 cats in life, there all gone now but all 3 of them had their interesting moments.

The one, whose name was Charlie, we used to meow back and forth all the time, I would meow, and he would always answer back. Another one I had, like to be annoying sometimes, so I would pick her up and hold her tight. She'd cry to be put down, then about a minute later would want you to pick her up again.

My puppy definitely tries to annoy us, and he never tries to hide it! What he does is, every time you catch him to bring him back inside, he remembers how you caught him and refuses to be caught the same way again. So every time you bring him inside, you have to try a new trick XD

I think one of the funniest things I've seen cats do is "chatter" when they birds outside the window. It's too funny and adorable, even though I know the cats really want to devour those innocent birds.

I love when they do this. I've called it "Mack Macking" since I was a little girl because of how it sounds when they chatter.

I made a bird table which was a bit wobbly. A blackbird landed on it and it wobbled so the blackbird fell straight into the water dish. :D
