Do you ever shadows in your dreams
I mean realistic ones, not dreaming about one gigantic shadow.
Last night I had a dream where everything had a realistic shadow, which appeared to be in the appropriate length and direction for the dream lighting. I can only recall ever noticing shadows in a dream before and that was one that only last about 2 minutes.
The dream involved eating at Mcdonalds with my family. It started in the playarea which was humongous and clearly designed to be played on by adults, though most of the children in the play area were two years old. The spacing between the moneky bars was so large that most twelve year olds wouldn't be able to do it, and the balls in the play pit were so huge adults, any small child would easily be buried.
Well once I was done at the play area, I went to the eating area. This was not your typical Mcdonalds. There was all the Mcdonald's food which you would walk up to the counter and order though.
I saw my brother standing up and raising his hand - I thought he was waving me over. Nope, he was waving over the server that you called if you want something besides Mcdonalds food. THe menu the server bought had several kinds of soup, 12 different kinds of pizza, baby back ribs, etc.. Just about any kind of food you could imagine. I had just decided I wanted split pea soup and two slices of turkey and mushroom pizza, when I looked ovefr and saw that the left end of the counter sold taco bell food. I then spent the time debating over what I wanted to eat. Meanwhile my grandmother is served what she ordered and its this huge platter of barbecued ribs and several round baked potatoes, plus a glass of fruit punch in a real glass.
I try some of her ribs because she doesn't like them then go to wash my hands. Even though there are separate RR entrances for males and females we all end up washing our hands in the same place. Only one sink has soap which happens to be the sink I go to first, but something is wrong with the drain so the basin is full of water, and i'm not willing to stick my hands in someone elese dirty water to see if the plug needs pulled. I wash, dry off my hands with paper towels from a stack, and go back to eat.
THroughout the entire dream everything had a natural shadow, the ribs were sizzling, the punch moved slowly if the glass was, I could hear the water running. It was odd - even my realistic dreams don't contain details like that.

Let me know when the shadows don't have the people attached to them and we'll talk.
But no, I don't recall seeing shadows. I think the vast majority of mine are inside. Never thought about it. I'll try to pay attnetion for shadows, when I'm in recall.
Certian foods have an effect on our dreams, make them more real, more detailed. I like chili, not only for it's taste, it livens up the dreams. Did you eat any of the McStuff before you slept?

No, I've largely only been eating healthy in the past few months. and if I wanted fastfood Mcdonalds would be the last place I'd go with their excessively thin hamburgers which have been on the warmer for an hour, and their plastic coated french fries. FOr the same price, I could goto DQ and get made to order fresh food, with a hamburger patty thats three time as thick.
