Those who read the Romantic forum will know I like to make certain observations about women. Well I'm going to make an observation about my own gender.

Has anyone noticed in the last year how so many (NT) guys out there now look the same? A huge number of guys have adopted the following characteristics:

- Wear a baseball cap
- Neglect shaving
- Wear glasses
- Have large, 70s-like sideburns
- Fairly slim, very tall
- Always so damn positive, happy, and enthusiastic

They're EVERYWHERE and I can't get away from them. I don't know what annoys me about them either...maybe it's just that they all look the same and there's no individuality to them. Who knows.

I used to be friends with a guy that looked just like this, with every since characteristic listed. I didn't pay much attention to the first five characteristics, but I found the happy-go-lucky attitude extremely annoying. I later got rid of him, since he was treating me like crap.

On a side note, if this is the look that girls consider attractive nowadays, I could easily emulate it.

Yep, this is one look that girls consider attractive nowadays. It's not too hard to emulate if you've got the tall height and relatively low weight. Most of these guys are about 6 feet tall.

The other look they like is the gangsta rapper wannabe, which are very common in the larger cities (and are not limited to any one racial group). The urban gangsta hip-hop look is very appealing to women who like dangerous guys.

This is awful 8O I never realised I followed the herd so much.

- Wear a baseball cap - and sunglasses, but only outside, because otherwise suddenly walking into the sunlight from indoors hurts.
- Neglect shaving - maybe a little...
- Wear glasses - only for reading; prevents headaches.
- Have large, 70s-like sideburns - not guilty.
- Fairly slim, very tall - can I plead genes?
- Always so dam* positive, happy, and enthusiastic - when I can.

Is there nothing I can do? I shall have to consult my clones...

- Wear a baseball cap: No

- Neglect shaving Yes, for several days in a row: I'm lazy

- Wear glasses: For reading and sunglasses outside as my eyes are sensitive to very bright sunlight

- Have large, 70s-like sideburns: No, my facial hair is pretty sparse

- Fairly slim, very tall: 6 feet tall and 165 pounds

- Always so damn positive, happy, and enthusiastic: cynical, serious, limited enthusiasm and occasionally happy depending upon the situation

Peace

Since there is no shortage of these guys on university campuses, I might try and get a montage of photos of these guys. I can probably fill a memory card with those in just a couple hours.

Since this is under random fun ;) I present - the ideal young man:

Image

- Wear a baseball cap? Never! Sunburn is a mere distraction.
- Neglect shaving? No, no! Hair is an impurity and all should be removed!
- Wear glasses? Hardly, squinting is all the rage.
- Have large, 70s-like sideburns? Didn't I say, hair is evil!
- Fairly slim, very tall? Ideal shape: a bouncy ball.
- Always so damn positive, happy, and enthusiastic? Nope, I mope. Superciliously, when I'm up to it.

This is what seems to be the common look for guys where you come from is it? Ok lets see...

- Wear a baseball cap-this is ok, I don't mind this
- Neglect shaving-a bit of roughage can make someone appear sexy, this can work
- Wear glasses-depends if he suits them
- Have large, 70s-like sideburns-NO, NO, NO,NO,NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! !! !! !! !!
- Fairly slim, very tall-He doesn't have to be very tall, after all I'm tiny so it may be quite intimidating
- Always so damn positive, happy, and enthusiastic-I love this in a guy, it sometimes rubs off on me and people like this can amuse me for hours.

I'd say you're lucky. Over here in England, we have to put up with a breed of sub-human creatures that seem to be taking over our country called Chavs. These individuals have brains that must be viewed under a microscope, indulge in anti-social behaviour and frequently swear at passers by for no reason other than their own entertainment and know very little about the English language. They wear sports clothes which makes me laugh as the only time that they EVER break into a sweat is when they're running from the police. Enthusiasm doesn't even feature in these people's lives as they know no better. And positive is something they ain't. They wear fake gold jewellery and the more they wear, the more 'bling' they are. What they don't seem to realise is that sportswear and lots of gold jewellery and greasy hair looks naff. And 'f**k off' is not an intelligent statement or language that you should use in front of toddlers and babies. And some of them really need to learn how to take a bath or a shower. Their chat up lines consist of 'you gonna shag me or what?' or crude statements relating to sex. They are like rats but without tails (well I suppose the women have them, you know the greasy facelift ponytails on their heads, I mean how in the f**k is this even remotely attractive?), vermin that possess the streets of Great Britain. Rant over. I think I'd rather have the enthusiastic, slim, slightly rough looking, positive basball cap wearer with the sideburns as opposed to an anti-social, foul mouthed, thick twerp who wears sportsgear that stinks and doesnt fulfil its purpose.

Drizzleman, do you use a stylus and notebook in paint, or a mouse and mousepad? I like paint but now that I have a laptop, using it is difficult, especially if I want any refinement in my drawings, and my index finger gets cramped navigating in the small area my laptop provides.

Sorry for getting off topic.

Awesome! Are you telling me that England is full of Ali-G wannabes? I love that guy!

Oh wait, the people you are talking about are serious about how they look and act.... Now that is scary.
