The lights of Taipei are gorgeous at night...

The city isn't too shabby during the day time, either. Well, pollution aside, but it DOES remind me of home.

Ah, Atlanta. I've been told the first week of fall weather hit Atlanta this week, and I missed it.

I feel soft inside.

Is that sufficiently random?

No? Whassat?

Oh, Hwahsi Jie. I dunno about that. Maybe if it was still full of brothels =)

I'm actually working in the Jhongshan District. The Taiwanese working day is a long day indeed, seems to leave little time for shopping, especially as I'll be working weekends. Ah well.

I was hoping to at least drop by the Guanghua Market if I have time. Maybe get out of Taipei City, too. We shall see.

Might I ask your association with Taipei?

=)

I worked there as an English Teacher in 1987.

I remember Snake Alley (never mind the brothels), the Chiang Kai Shek memorial, the National Museum, the Sun Yat Sen museum.

Of course, now that they have democracy, Chiang Kai Shek may be less of a hero.

But, yes, people in Taiwan work too hard.
