Any tales of your quirky sense of humour being lost on the Earthlings?

When I was 28, I had started attending a particular church and one eveing a couple of the foxy female attendee's came around my house for a friendly visit, they where about 25 and somewhat desireable, so of course I wanted to impress them with my kind hospitality and fun loving guy sense of humour.

So,

About to go into the kitchen to make them a lovely cup of coffe, I asked them if they wanted to listen to a record?, (this was before CDs).

They said they would, so I put on Sparky's Magic Piano

I could see by the alarmed frowns they where giving each other that they didnt realise this was one of my quirky jokes.

(Sparky magic piano was a childrens record about a little boy who had a piano that could talk and play itself you young-uns. I expect they have banned it now because it taught kids a moral lesson and the beauty of classical music and didnt contain any violence.
On the other side was Sparky and the talking train.
This was brilliant, I must check out Amazon to see if they do it on CD as though Ive still got the record, I no longer have a record player.)

I find the movie "Big Meat Eater" hilarious, but no one I've shown it to gets it.

Then again, I'm a MSTie who identifies too strongly with Dr. Forrester, so whenever I ask other people to watch a movie, I'm probably unconsciously viewing them as lab rats that I'm subjecting to psychological torture.

Yeah. I find it funny to say things that aren't true and sound ridiculous to me. But I tend to deadpan so much that the people around me believe me. And half the things I say that are true sound unbelievable to the people around me, so it gets me into trouble.

My sense of humour only makes me laugh. It's wasted on most other people. My sense of humour can be kinda twisted or weird sometimes though.

YES. Last year i was doing a presentation in History about napoleon i think, and i was telling the class about how he found out that his son was plotting to kill him. So once he found out he plotted to have his son killed, then he had his step brother killed at a pool party, and his wife poisoned or something like that, and some more relatives. Finally something clicked after I read all of this outloud and I thought about how rediculous it was and I started to laugh uncontrolably. So hard that i was doubled over and crying, and the whole class was laughing , but I couldnt stop and the teacher was getting MAD at me...lol

My sense of humor only makes sense to me. Other people just don't get it.

Yeah, just today I got talking to a staff member in Asda who got amused once when she saw me and a guy walk right into one another as I wasn't looking where I was going...

She said she never gets to know the names of anyone she talks to, not even mine, so I told her my name, took a look at her name badge, which said Gloria, and said 'Oh, that reminds me of the good witch in The Wizard Of Oz' to which she seemed a little taken aback so I added 'Well at least it's not the name of the bad witch' :P

Umm yeah I do this all the time. I say jokes in a serious tone often, people either don't register I was joking or they have a "hey wait a minute...how does?...OH YOU BAD MAN HAHA"

That then amuses me in turn.

So funny. I remember listening to Sparky's Magic Piano as a kid only our copy was so old it was on one or two 78rpm records.

I'd love to have seen the look on their faces.

Anyway, add me to the list. I left one job with a reference that included the sentence "Mr Almos has a very individual sense of humor".

Ed Almos

All of the time...people find me annoying, but I'm getting too old to care.
