We get a buyer who wants to do the transaction on Venmo. S*** goes south as the transaction stalls as money is pending. The Buyer's account is labeled as a business and ours (using it for the first time) is setup as personal. A lot of trouble later, we contact customer service and it is of no help. Payments are not going through, refunds are not going through. They're asking for extra info, passwords, PayPal accounts, etc. Hours pass and my younger bro, smartest in the family catches onto something from the speaker phone. The buyer and the customer service rep are in the same building! We backed out. A thousand dollars down the drain, stress, alcohol, headaches. Venmo and anyone who uses it can go f*** themselves. My parents are tired fifty somethings. To turn a simple transaction into a circus act scam is unforgivable.

We are. We stopped the transaction and are in the process of getting our money back. I was given orders today to keep a look out in case the guy came to our house looking to collect and then call the police. He didn't show so we're grateful.
