To my own astonishment,I did once. Not that I actually put myself forward,I was
instead 'volunteered' by someone playing a little joke. I'd already seen others
put in the same predicament who ended up being embarassed by having to chicken
out in front of everyone,so I figured going through with it was the lesser of 2 evils.
I have a modicum of talent for impersonating voices and on this occasion I was
able to impersonate someone who could hold a tune. The fact I had some Dutch courage also helped. Not sure I could ever do it again though.

"Could someone get that dying cow off the stage??" I imagine that will be one of the lines Ill hear if I ever do it. Unless its a black or death metal song  I love doing those vocals.

I did. It went down a storm, they had to chuck me off stage before I caused a riot.

My racing mates urged me to once, so I did. I thought that if I picked a song I liked, I'd have no problem. The song was Dyer Maker by Led Zeppelin, and I don't drink, so it was that much more difficult. I tell you, that song should be banned from kroakyoke lists!

No. Even though I sing fairly well, I could never imagine doing it.

I remember when I first tried to sing in public, in elementary school and onward back in the '60s I faced a learning curve. I was too loud at first and I didn't know how to listen to myself, so I could be completely out of key without realizing it.

I am a ham at heart. One of those people more at ease on stage than in a living room.

I go out and sing at least once a week. Even sing in contests. I'm not the greatest singer, but I'm not half bad. And I love to perform. I join the contests because I can do crazier stuff than on a normal karaoke night... I've dressed as Dylan to sing Dylan, dressed as Buster Poindexter to sing Hot, Hot, Hot, dressed as one of the Blues Brothers, and in a zoot suit to sing swing numbers... 8)

Yeah, once (a couple months ago actually). I was unwillingly volunteered. I don't sing.

I have, more than once. The most memorable time was when a friend wanted to sing and was afraid to sing without me. Well, she messed up the words and I was embarrassed because I'm such an uptight perfectionist with the world. Hurrah.

Most of the times, however, were not humiliating.
