I'm curious if any people on the autism spectrum have experienced major changes in their personality during or after a major infection?

I am curious as to why you are asking this. You might get more response if you just come straight out with the reason you were looking up aspergers and murder on google to begin with? Someone you know or have dealt with who is on the spectrum done something you want answers to or something?

I've noticed that my child's behavior tends to be more NT when he has a fever -- always has behaved like this since he was a little child.

My son was first diagnosed with ocd when he started suddenly with severe symptoms while having a 102 degree temp due to a sinus infection. He was part of a PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders associated with Streptococcus---or something like that- it's been a long time) protocol study at a University hospital for several years. It brought his symptoms to a forefront but he has had PDD and other symptoms all his life. We're still trying to figure out exactly how he is affected (also diagnosed Nonverbal Learning Disability social anxiety). High School is terrible for him right now.
But to the original question, yes his symptoms were more pronounced when sick. And my sister with a generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder who is controlled by medication has symptoms again while ill.

I had to learn to look people in the eye and everything the NT's do, so its almost become habit, but I have noticed when I become sick I 'forget' to do all of those things and revert to a very aspie like state.

I don't know why this should happen; upon recovery a physically healthy person will be back to normal. If not, something else has happened very wrong and I would be concerned! But, surely, when one has a high fever (I do get delerious), then, yes! I revert more into a deeper autistic state. When I'm stressed, overwhelmed, not well, or any sort of 'out of equilibrium' I become further away. I think this is what you mean, yes? Even a NT, when having a cold/flu will feel 'disconnected' due mostly to inner ear fluids and the resulting disorientation (your inner ear coordinates your balance, plus having a cold will muffle or alter your senses). Plus, cold/flu medicine does have an effect!

I am prone to getting high fevers when I'm sick and this certainly makes me kind of delirious. I cannot function nearly as well under these circumstances and I must consciously try to act within neurotypical rules (well, somewhat), so this ability would be compromised too.

When I'm sick I want to be left alone...I have almost zero tolerance for people normally when I'm ill. Every noise, every sensation seems magnified 75% more than usual.

Unless I feel like I'm truly going to die I normally won't go to a Dr. because I don't want anyone touching me.

I have recovered from a severe bout of bronchitis with sinus infection.

I have noticed no change personally. However, since I live by myself I am uncertain as if others would have said likewise.
