I voted disabled. I don't even know if I have AS, but whatever I have seems to preclude me from interacting in the real world the way I would like to.

I am not disabled but by no means 'normal' either
In my mind my son is NOT disabled, just different :)

AS may have some disabling effects but I do not have those so I vote 'normal'.

My only issue is social interaction... while it affects me negatively I do not think it prevents me from getting on with my life.

The water that flows around the rock eventually wears it down. :)

I am not "normal," meaning "typical," but I'm not disabled, either.

Definitely disabled... Definitely... But I don't have any problem with it. I'd rather be disabled than "normal" hehehe.

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

Normal, however that definition is somewhat relative. Of course Strapples has no problem with being disabled, as he's granted the opportunity to run pedestrians over.

And or put a pillow under the tilt system and say "Go ahead, sleep here" and then drop the tilt angles and crush their head. ;)

Ahh, so many ways a powerchair can become a weapon..

There are no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, I'm sitting in one though!

The opposite to disabled is not 'normal', it's non disabled.

Am disabled, but am neither aspie or hf,am also have a life long physical impairment in left leg which is CP like but undiagnosed, too much going on to bother with one more thing that needs specialist visits,am do not consider the leg impairment disability even though it can restrict am a lot,it just seems nothing in comparison to everything else am have.

Some people say 'able bodied' is the opposite of 'disabled' [ouch forum users will have come across this],as they are ignorant of disability beyond physical/mobility related, disability means when the persons impairment affects their day to day life in some way on a long term [over a year].

I assume you mean "Is your AS a dissability to you?" If I assume correct then the answear is no, and so I guess I am normal.

Sooo many problems in defining normal though

Same. I've got AS, but I don't feel like a disabled person. Disenfranchised maybe, but not disabled.
