I love my Mom.

And since the terribleness I'm realizing how much she means to me.

But she is living with me now, and I'm also realizing how dissimilar we are.

She doesn't understand me, never will, and subtly treats me as if I were a child.

In the end though, these things don't really matter. She's there for me, and desires the best for me.

I'd be a fool to demand more.

I wish my mother wouldn't be so defensive about my childhood because I like to ask her questions about my past like did I flap my hands when I was little, did I line my toys up, did I do any other autistic behavior?

But I still love her. I wonder how she started to accept I am on the spectrum. I used to be surprised she accepted the Asperger's diagnoses until she told me my psychaitrist told her to use the diagnoses to get me through school and get me the education I need. She told me I also needed the diagnoses so she and my dad could get power over my school by stopping them from putting me in a class with violent kids. So I thought they maybe paid my psychiatrist extra money to diagnose me just so they can get power over the school.

But she has helped me through life and worked with me so I could get where I am at now and according to my doctor I am seeing now, my mother worked with me so my self help skills are at the age level now I am at. She even took classes to help me out and work with me.
