Do you consider your family to be the people actually genetically related to you? Or is there another group that you are with that you may consider to be another "family" that is closer than your actual family?

In my case, I know that I consider the people of the church I go to as more of a family than my actual family... it's the church people that are there for me when I need it, it's where I do alot of stuff outside of school, and I feel like I belong there. My actual family, on the other hand, I get to see every thanksgiving and christmas, and that's about it...

My family is all people that shair the most similar genetic material that I do.

Your family is related to you biologically through genetic DNA and even though you may not be close to them emotionally or
in the same physical location, you are still related should you need a blood transfusion... or some other biological, medical necessity to save your life.

One thing for certain...you can pick your friends but, you can't pick your relatives. They are given to you on the day you were
born...it's a package deal.

Even adoption doesn't change the genetic DNA of your biological family; people you may never meet in your lifetime.

I consider my close friends to be family.
