After much procrastinating, I've decided to ask for advice. For nearly four years I have been trying to have my things taken out of storage and delivered to me. The things are in Pennsylvania, and I have had to move to Florida due to my health. Three things have stopped me every time. One, I don't know anyone who is able to help me with loading, driving, and unloading the truck. Two, it will cost me over one thousand dollars if I hire professional movers to do it. (I can't afford that.) I would do it myself, but number Three, my health is shot, and I could never accomplish it on my own. I have a sneaking suspicion that maybe there is some really easy way to accomplish this, but maybe I am not able to think outside the box? Some way that is cheap, practical, and easy?

I would appreciate if people could brainstorm and share any ideas that they come up with. I am so sick of forking over the storage fees every month.

Can you get a loan, and then pay it back out of what would have been the storage fee?

Do you know anyone there, non-professional, who you could pay to help you for less?

Where in Pennsylvania, to where in Florida? The cheapest I have found, is Amtrak, which will take 500 pound pallets. That would only work if it was close on both ends. There are professional packers, who will pickup, pack, and deliver to Amtrak.

Two, craigs list, Moving from PA to FL? I have a deal for you. It is cheap to list, and you can find someone you can check out.

I would say it comes down to how much do you have, what is the largest piece, which method would be best.

Nothing is cheap, fly up, rent a van, hire someone to load, take the car train south, it will cost $1000.

Tagging along on someone elses moving, maybe a few hundred.

Post an offer on Craigs list, what volume, and where you want it. You can always say no or not respond, but you might find someone coming that way, and you can pay their gas.

I wish the car train ran east west, I hate to drive across Texas.

Good luck!
