I've just heard Slade singing 'I wish it could be christmas everyday' on an Argos ad.

That song is always the first sign for me.

EDIT: It was Wizard that sang the song not Slade.

Music on the radio, and the shopping frenzy the day after Thanksgiving.

When my local supermarket moves the jam and dogfood so they can put out the mince pies, cakes and crackers, often before they get out the Hallowe'en stuff

I used to work in retail, so basically anything after September. It starts earlier and earlier. :)

But it doesn't start for me until Thanksgiving.

Once it starts cooling off here, it feels like Christmas will be arriving soon. I don't really rely on the stores anymore since they put out Christmas decorations at the end of July...

I was going to say candy, but my favorite holiday for candy is Easter.

Already one of the stores at the York Galleria is selling Christmas decorations and such. Has been doing it for three weeks now.

They didn't show that advert last year, it ruined Christmas a little. They should bring it back.

The evenings getting darker earlier, the weather turning chilly and the xmas market going up in the high street.
And hearing the song 'The power of love'... the version often played at Xmas.

you know...it starts 'I'll protect you from the hooded claw, keep the vampires from your door... ' :)

When my peace is invaded by others gathering at my residence, it's either Thanksgiving or Christmas.
