Since she got my mouth watering for pizza, I have to decide where I'm gonna get some today! :D

Here's some of my favorite pizza places ever...

Conan's - Austin, Texas (back in the mid-80's)
Tom's Sourdough Pizza - Fortuna, California
Giordano's - Chicago, Illinois (Sister-in-law used to bring us a half-baked when she'd visit us in Alaska)
Lombardi's - SoHo, NYC
Folie Duce - Arcata, California (kinda hoity-toity, but they're good)
Papa Murphy's Take-and-Bake - Anywhere (just because any pizza is good, and these are CHEAP to boot!)
Live From New York - Arcata, California and McKinleyvill, California

Pizza by Pappas - Scranton, PA (Really good, but the pizzas are small enough for one person to eat alone.)
Dino and Francesco's - Clarks Summit, PA (They make the anchovy pizza I like.)

They're my favorite local pizza places.

It's a southeast regional chain, like Sonny's B-B-Q. Tallahassee, Valdosta, Dothan, et al... north Florida, south Georgia, southeast Alabama.

Pizza deliciousness is a bell-curve as compared to price.

All pizza is pretty much ok to eat, but on the low end you have trash like "Totinos party pizza" which is about $1 and it is worth about $1. I will admit I partake in these more often than I should.

But then you get to the middle ground pizza (chain pizza places) they are about half way at the top of the pizza curve.

At the very top are the independant pizza makers, the ones who do it their own way and barely speak the native language of the area, and are staffed with 10 brothers/sisters.

From there you go up in price and you can list the pizzas made in sit down italian restraunts that don't specialize in pizzas. They are higher in price, but they have passed the crest of the curve. Deliciousness starts to drop off as you try to add sophistication and "fancyness" to something that is good because it is peasent food.

Of course the fancier the restraunt the more expensive and less delicious the pizza is once you pass the crest.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I WANNA TRASH PIZZA! :P

THAT's what I'm gonna ask for when I get my butt out of this house today...

Pimpledy-faced lanky teenage boy behind counter: "Welcome to El Cheapo's Pizza Place Sir! May I take your order?"

Me: "Yeah! I WANNA TRASH PIZZA! My buddy Shaggydaddy sent me!"

PFLTBBC: "Uh, like uh, sure. KATHY! Can you help this customer? I'm going on my break!"

Didn't Totino's and Jeno's have a recall last week?

Double Dave's is good (it's a chain of pizza places in Texas).

When I lived in Houston, I ate at an Italian restaurant called Antonio's (in La Porte, TX) very frequently.

Jet City's NW Garlic Gourmet is my all time favorite.

Good fortune,

- Icarus is not a vegetarian, he just likes that particular pizza...

It is dangerous and dishonest to call Double Dave's good.

you must specify "Double Dave's pizza is crap, but their all you can eat pepperoni rolls are worth killing for and worth dying for."

Much like you should not tell someone "Golden chick and chicken express are good chicken places." No, they are good places to get CHICKEN TENDERS, the chicken is poison and nobody should eat it ever, but the tenders are the food of the gods.

Never been to either of those chicken places.

oh man tim, you have them near you you must try them. Double battered, all white meat artery clogging goodness with southern pepper gravy. I could seriously eat those to a fatal quantity if there was nobody there to stop me. Just remember "Golden Chick" or "Chicken Express" Order Tenders, not "chicken". I lived in Denton till about 4 months ago and I have to say that Tenders are the only thing I really miss about Texas (beyond family).

I'm in Wichita Falls, and there are at least two Golden Chicks that I know of. There's a Chicken Express up in Burkburnett, just north of town.

The Flying Wedge makes by far the best pizzas ever.
