Me? There are probably several I don't remember... I had to go door to door collecting money and pledges for the Girls for the Cure walk to cure breast cancer, in grade 7 and 8... in girl guides I remember selling cookies door to door and making stuff and selling it at an arts and crafts sale, I think for some charity...

None.

I support many charities, but have never worked up the courage to do anything.

I agree, in a way...

People tell me I should get into a youth mentoring program, because I love kids and being around them more than I do adults.

But I literally need a driver's license to apply. Seeing as how I can't drive, well...

I work as a voluntary chess trainer for kids and I have a youth group leader licence. Don't ask me how I got that one, what with all the tests and evaluations of character. But so far, nobody has complained about my work, neither kids nor parents. Our U12 team won the German School Championship. I guess I'm doing an okay job.
It's not real charity, but I think it counts at least as social engagement...

I have donated some money to charitable organizations, but the only work I've done was when I collected money for the Norwegian Church Aid at age 14.

My family has always donated to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, La Casa de Esperanza, and the Salvation Army. I also volunteered at Al's Run for Children's Hospital, at the money-collecting table, and I volunteered as an assistant bowling coach for adults in the Special Olympics.

I've donated to my local Pro-Life office about 5 months ago, and I plan to donate before Christmas, again.

I donate to WSPA every month.

Other than that I have donated to the salvation army...I guess that counts.

I have volunteered my time for food banks, the organization I work for, community events, United Way Campaign's and a friends community centre.

My daughter is currently volunteering each day after school by selling lemonade (with the sunkist take a stand~lemonade stand), at my org. for a United Way (our major funder) Campaign that we put on each year. I am too exhausted to do what I used to do (make meals and sell them to staff to raise funds), so this is our joint effort. So far she has put in about 6 hours and made close to $50 :D

We wanted to volunteer in a Shelter or church providing a meal (or similar), on Christmas Day, but that is "not appropriate for children", apparently. *sigh* So, instead we have bought tons of hot chocolate packages and noodle soups to do up bags for people on the streets of Toronto. They always have access to restaurants that will give them hot water in a cup, so every little bit counts.

We donate cash on occasion, but have yet to decide what charity we would like to support ongoing. We have supported friends in their efforts to raise awareness. We just bought a couple of hundred dollars worth of autism awareness items to send our friends/family at Christmas (key chains, book marks, bracelets).Perhaps we will donate to a cause ongoing, but cannot imagine who.

Been taking all our baby stuff down the street to a woman's shelter recently. Usually donate clothes to our friends in need.

Hm...seems like quite a bit now that it is written, but it is all fairly effortless on our part.

I work the evening shift once a fortnight serving dinner and cleaning the kitchen and common room in a homeless shelter. That and church services make up the entire of my social life outside my family. I like working there, because aside from the do-gooding, it's meaningful human contact with clearly defined rules, and if I don't feel up to talking to anyone, I can do the hated pot washing-up and earn the gratitude of the other volunteers, whilst simultaneously avoiding contact with the guests who are forbidden from going in the kitchen.

Aside from that, I give to the Refugee Council and Medicins sans Frontiers. I have a huge soft spot for the homeless, the destitute and the outcasts.
