Letters needed if this bothers you. Check the page for a better description than I could write:

not sure if understand it well....
why is VW doing animal experiments?

Is VW the same car company that has the current tv advert with the birds skateboarding and walking everywhere?

WHAT?! That I hope to God is not true. My parents and sister both own VW beetles, and I would think less of the company that made that car, much much much less...

1) foundation was funded in 1961 by a gift of shares of VW stock.
2) since then VW has not given them a dime except dividends on shares, which it could not stop giving to share holders even if it wanted to.

So, lets see... if in 1961 I gave someone $1000 and in 2007 they bought a shotgun and started killing penguins would that make me a penguin killer? Clearly I financed their penguin killing spree, so am I at fault?

This is a sad thing I agree, but I think it is irresponsible to draw a straight line from animal experiment to VW.

As other people expresed... VW has no reason to do animal experiments

It does seem sort of unfair to blame VW for this, but the main point of this thread isn’t to blame VW, but to stop the killing of songbirds for pointless research.

Who's to say this is pointless research? The page sounded suspiciously vague to me, looks like typical PETA propaganda to me. There is a point to their research, or they wouldn't be doing it. People don't just start up a company with a business model such as "We will do random experiments on birds, resulting in their death, for utterly no reason at all."

I'm sorry, but this reminds me far too much of Bonsai Kitty

What would they want with birds. Are they creating a new organic engine.
