One girl in grade 7 said that once there was a guy who dropped his pager in a public toilet and flushed it, so he had to get someone in there to retrieve it from the pipes by taking up the toilet, then the pager had to be sanitized and all that... then my dad mentioned the alligators-in-the-sewers thing and the one about the woman with the beehive hairdo who was proud of it and never took it down or washed it, and who then collapsed at work with some blood coming out of it, and they took it down to treat the wound only to discover it full of ants... my friend in elementary school told me of a girl who went on a ride; I think it was or was like a roller coaster and was one of the more daring, dangerous rides, and I think it was at LaRonde... she somehow lost her foot, it fell down onto the ground/asphalt, then, as if that wasn't enough, her head came off. :o :x :!: :?:

I can't think of any actual urban legends around my community that aren't from anywhere else, but I remember seeing this mildy grotesque poem scrawled on the side of a slide in one of my favourite playgrounds:

If you see a little bunny,
And its nose is really runny,
And you think it's really funny
But it's snot.

So? :P I saw this written in whiteout or something on a bench at a bus stop: Sex is cool, drugs are fine. We're the class of '99.

In both my middle and high schools students used to say that there was a secret swimming pool on the roof. I never did make it up to the roof but I don't believe it.

in my elementary school some kids wouldn't use the bathroom because they thought there were cameras in it; for asome reason one year or two years a rumor swept around the school that there were cameras in the washrooms. I never saw any, and when I needed the washroom I needed the wshroom, so I used it anyway.

well, the infamous McDonalds urban legends, when I was younger, some people didn't want to go there believing that stuff.

Also heard about this when I was a kid, that eating chicken too much, turns men into gays.

Sometimes while using public restrooms I get paranoid that there are cameras in them because I've heard of people doing that sort of thing.

I'm an urban legend in my community. Apparently, I killed myself in the nearby school toilets. 8O

I'm always getting asked about that...

No urban legends specific to my community, but I have been fascinated with the one about the guy (I think it was at UT Austin) who went to a party, and fell asleep in his dorm room, and when he woke up, he was in a pool of ice, and one of his kidneys was missing.

The one about the spider eggs in Bubble Yum bubble gum was a good one, too.

I've heard of some groups of criminals spiking people's drinks, and when they pass out, kidnap them and operate on them, stealing a kidney.

In my specific neighborhood there is the urban legend of Dean Correl the infamous "Candy Man" serial killer who in the 70's abducted young boys from my neighborhood and sex-tortured and murdered them.....wait...can an urban legend count if it is real? Two of the boys dissapeared from my next door neighbor's house...according to the book "The Man With the Candy"
Sorry for leaning this thread in such a macabre direction...

I don't think it would be considered an urban legend if it was real.
