I've been busy so today I was catching up on threads (compulsive habit) and something in particular made me reconsider the contexts/implications of a thread I posted about Asperger's and fads. Mainly, because a new member (self-diagnosed) was being viciously attacked for no good reason (PMS?), and I stopped to think "gee, I would certainly hope I don't come across that way".
Not that I'm retracting my speculations, but I never meant to infer that all self-diagnosed Aspies are phonies, trying to get attention, etc. I would feel pretty rotten if that were the case. I'm personally glad that I have had a professional diagnosis, since it clenched the deal as far as I'm concerned- but I would have probably figured it out on my own anyways.
Just wanted to get that off my chest.
