for a small time punk band from Calgary.
It is something ive never done before, but want to try it to help build confidence. I can learn some organizing skills, some interpersonal skills, get involved in the music scene in my community etc.

I was wondering if anybody else has done something similar to this and would be able to provide some suggestions on where to start. I've already been in contact with the band via myspace and ive been in contact with another person who gave me a list of names and phone numbers to get in contact to book either the theatre, casino or pub.

These are a list of questions i have come up with to ask so far when i contact one of these places.

How much does it cost to rent the theatre? Who pays for it? Would i have to pay for it? Do the bands pay for it? Does one get a sponsor to pay the cost of renting the theatre?

What other things should i be aware of? You takes care of promoting the concert?

Thats all i can think of. Can anybody else think of any other questions one should ask?

Yes, I have some experience with this. I just PMed you with a summary of what I know about booking punk shows. I was going to post it, but it ended up being too long.
