It's interesting how it does that. Really, it's a pity that we'd be unable to study its effects fully; the impact it has is amazing.

In the article I read about it, the scientists sure do their best to humanize the whole thing. But when it comes right down to it, it's a random occurance in an unpopulated area of space. So what?

But they have to keep public interest as high as possible to keep their future funding as high as possible.
"Death star!!11!"... Uh, nothing died. Nor will anything die as a result of this particular occurance.

HEll YA the X files rock, I saw the pilot episode when it first came out on accident and loved is sence.

Ya... interesting, first known occurance of this.

ANd ya ragtime, maby their is life being sterilized right now, we would never know because any radio signal they sent would take millions of years to reach us, and we have only had the capability to receive that signal for less then 100 years now. Civilizations can come and go in 1 cosmic blip, but the radio signals they produce will span the universe traveling at 186,000 mi/sec, painfully slow really...
