8O

I left an apple and blackcurrant pie in the oven for about a half hour too long. It was completely charred. I did try to set the timer but the button are so nondescript I must of done it wrong.

On the plus side I know the fire alarm needs a new battery.

Good that you managed to put it out before it got even worse!

It's ok there wasn't actually a fire, just smoke.

That's good. Must've been scary anyway.

Boy, doesn't it shake you up when you screw up like that? I'm always messing up and it really upsets my sense of competency. I just keep bungling forward, like one of those robot vacuums that changes directions, when it bumps into something.

I feel like that too sometimes, Bobert; I find it depressing. But I'm getting happier now and the happiness makes me do it less often! :D

Oh Bother!

Don't feel bad... set of my smoke alarm in my flat a few weeks ago. I made the mistake of greasing the waffle iron with the wrong stuff. Thankfully, I only had smoke and not a fire.

I was slightly embarassed (for the alarm as well as the fact my entry way was a mess) as it brought some concerned neighbours to my door.

I am however grateful for their concern.

Note: One problem with my smoke alarm is that it is placed almost straight across from my cooker. This has caused a similar occurance many times since I moved in my flat around ten years ago. My alarm is so sensitive that even a damp cloth covering it dosen't help. I found recently that a masking of cling wrap seems to be helpful, for now any way.

Atleast you didn't set the carpet on fire [which I have done before ]

Haha!

Once I caught my little brother, who was like !TWO YEARS OLD! trying to burn a plastic jar.

He knew he was doing something bad, because we were alone, and he was very very quiet. So, I went to look for him, and found him in the kitchen, with the jar in one of the burners! His eyes where wide wide open when I caught him on the act!

hahaha!
