I'd say probably in the region of 12-15. I'm in transition at the moment because I prefer my summer socks (which are ones that sit below the ankle) but they don't work with winter boots and stuff so I have longer ones but lots of them are worn through so making a pair is a challenge. So many of my pairs of socks are either inappropriate for the season or should be binned. I need new socks, is what I'm saying.

Would wearing a mismatched pair of socks bother you?

indubitably, i'd feel so out of place.

do you prefer 2d animation or 3d CGI animation in media?

2d animation every time, and preferably hand drawn. 3D CGI just seems utterly soulless to me. And more manipulative for some reason.

I own three socks. I normally have only one pair but I lost one individual sock, so I bought a second pair. I'm hoping to find the lost one but I think my dog took it outside to the nether regions of mud.

I only like hand drawn animation like The Flintstones, or old Disney. I can't stand computer animation and don't watch it.

My daughter. We both have the same odd sense of humour, so we are constantly sending each other weird facts and memes.

How long since you wrote a handwritten letter to someone?

I sent a sympathy card to a friend in August, and wrote a note inside.
I need to buy another for someone else.

It has been at least a few years since I did that.

Same question.

Actually, I was just thinking it's time to write Christmas cards.
I always handwrite a good sized message with them.

Who is the last person you upset?

All of the people I know in real life, I am on friendly terms with. The last time I upset someone I think was when I dumped my girlfriend back in 2021.

Since then, I've probably annoyed a few people online here and there, but I'm not sure that would qualify as upsetting those people, although who knows.

Do you like fast food?

Love/hate. I like KFC and some of McDonalds but I feel bad about eating it because its not good food or well-raised meat and I once I've eaten it i tend to feel pretty crap.

How many people are on your Christmas card list?

About 15-20.
Years ago I sent about 40 but a lot of people have passed away.

Do you receive many Christmas cards?
I get exactly three now.
Most people don't bother.

No.

I only really get cards from immediate family. I have a few friends irl but none of them are into card sending.

Same question.

I get one in the post from my mother, one from a cousin who seems to be ghosting me ever since I asked her to do something for me - meaning I might not get one this year, and one from another cousin which is always just one of those mass-produced family photo postcards that they don't even sign. They put mass-produced stickers on them, saying "Merry Christmas. Love, the ________ s."

I keep old cards from when people actually cared, and display those.

Do you keep any holiday traditions?

I have a roast dinner on Christmas day, every single year.

Apart from that, not really.

Same question.

Many, which were passed down from generation to generation.
They do not and cannot vary.

It gets frustrating sometimes but I know I'd be gutted without them.

One is that I walk to midnight mass on Christmas Eve.
I've done it through snow, and ice, and illness.
Even with my walker after my big stroke.
Driving is not allowed because it's like a pilgrimage.
I go for the candlelight and choirs.

It takes about 40 mins to walk each way, in good weather.
That means I absolutely must be home on Christmas Eve, and nowhere else.

Are you going to the WP Christmas party?
