Ovaltine commercials are even worse.

I agree that Ovaltine commercials are some of the freakiest commercials ever.

But what's wrong with Olive Garden? Their waiters are really nice, there's not usually a long wait, and the food is great.

My prob with Olive Garden is they don't have a Vegan thing on the menu. All their noodles contain eggs and there is dairy (and I think eggs too) in their salad dressing and the breadsticks have butter on it. But for just general omnivores--you should be aware because most of it is extremely high fat and even more so with sodium. Nutrition Action had an issue on that and there isn't much on the menu worth eating if you care about your heart (just soup and salad).

lotus: I am a vegetarian but I don't mind. :p I'm phenylketonuric, so that's why. As long as they don't sweeten their food with aspartame I'm fine.

Heh, I agree, their commercials are a bit on the annoying side.

I love the Olive Garden, though- their Toscana soup is made of absolute win. Really, the only thing I dislike about the place is how crowded it always is. And their 'happy birthday' song, which is always sung out of tune by a group of lackluster employees (my sister once heard one of them say sarcastically, "I love my job!" as he was walking away from a table after singing  ).

I have not noticed the commercial.

I liked the soup salad and breadsticks combo.
Their minnestrone soup is vegetarian. When I was a strict (but not vegan) vegetarian a long time ago, it was one of the few commercial restauaunts where i was comfortable ordering...I bet the soup is crammed with MSG...but I liked it.

Nowadays noone in my small social realm would ever be caught dead in an Olive Garden...but my first boyfriend was sorta "into" Olive Garden, I guess.

I was there a few days ago. I love the artichoke and spinach dip.

I won't eat at olive garden. A high-school classmate of mine actually quit working there because he found them disgusting, and this is after he was fired from Carl's Jr for being too messy.

I always go there for my birthday. The smoked mozzarella fonduta is addictive.

What is phenylketonuric? I can't do aspartame due to my MVP. (sidenote, lol)

Anyways, interesting to see the difference of opinion. I bet you would get that for any food place....

I don't really even know what it is, but phenylketonuria is a genetic thing where my cells can't process a certain amino acid, phenylalanine. Therefore if I get too much of it I get bad stomach cramps / severe migraines. Yeah. It's not fun. They gave me a serum or something at birth for it so that I wouldn't have a bad reaction to the phenylalanine already in my own body, but I still have to watch myself.
