...I am not leaving WP.

I expect a slew of posts apologising for not upsetting me and begging me to leave, as well as ones denouncing me for not craving attention. I wouldn't be surprised if a few people made posts wondering why people can't just stay part of a forum without telling everyone about it. I am certain that someone will ask "Even if you are staying, there will be times when you aren't posting, like when you're asleep, or measuring random objects, or simply have nothing to say, won't there?"
Some people may even reassure that just because I'm staying, it doesn't mean that we have to become friends.

As someone who is new here, it is shocking for me to see people suddenly staying like this, even after being around for so long. I might even come back again.

I have been shocked in the past when people have stayed on messageboards in droves, but it is possible to learn to come to terms with their continued presence.

It is NOBODY'S fault that I have made this decision. In my mind, there has, of late, been a slow process of concluding that WP is, in fact, a good place to me, forcing the conclusion that I should stay here.

Yes, as I am staying you will unfortunately have the opportunity to get to know me. We may see each other around the forums, or, even worse, discover common interests and engage in conversation about them.
