I was turning off a light switch while my hands were wet and I slipped on something and I felt like some electricity was going through my finger but then it stopped, It was either I got electrocuted or that or my finger just moved quickly when I slipped

Probably would not have electrocuted yoy, but it does sound like you got bit. Therw should be no leakage from a switch. Call an electrician!

I had that happen before. You just got a shock and probably would not have gotten electrocuted. I got shocked from pulling an outlet out once too and I didn't get electrocuted either. Don't worry about it.

I don't think you got electrocuted. You were lucky, though. A lot of electrocutions happen that way.

I once fell backwards into an electric fence...now THAT was electrocution

Possibly due to your wet hands and the sudden movement you made, you might have introduced enough moisture into the switch somehow to shock yourself.

I rather doubt it, but it is theoretically plausible I guess.

If you do believe it was an electrical shock from the switch you should check it out for a short or bad grounding of some sort.

Could it have been static electricity? Although being wet diminishes this effect I believe.

Do you feel the same thing when you touch the switch dry?
Does the light workd properly?
Does the switch make any noise other than the usual click when you operate it?
Are there any smells you can associate with the switch, like a burning smell?

It is also possible that you had a neurological sensation that had to do with slipping and forcing your finger into a painful/uncomfortable position or just raking the tip of your finger.

Real helpful.. huh?

eta: You should take care not to operate electrical devices when wet. Depending on your health and the amount of current you are connecting with, you might wind up with a nasty feeling shock... or something worse.

For your questions I'd say:
1. No
2. Yes
3. No
4. No(We have a very sensitive smoke alarm... It goes off if we switch all the lights on or off quickly... So I would guess it would've gone off if the light was burning...)

I once got my arm electrocuted, and it hurt for quit awhile, like it had been strained or something.

Simple solution? Don't touch light switches whilst you're wet!

You silly billy.

I've been electrocuted.

It tickles.

That's all I can say on that matter. :D

I was shocked 2 times as a kid, once when I stuck my fingure in an electrical outlet at builders square. The second time I got a shock in my grandfathers garage when I touched the non-insulated part of the main switch that turned all the electric on in the garage.

Good stuff, really loosens up the muscles. And also I never touched that switch or socket in a store ever again.

Having worked on umpteen thousand electrical gadgets since I was knee high to a grasshopper, I have been shocked and electrocuted more times than I care to remember.

Some of the best is the old tube amplifiers. They have a step-up transformer created sometimes several kV. The good ones have adjustment pots right down between the power rails...

"Electocution" means to be killed by electricity. So you weren't electrocuted, or you couldn't have typed your post.

By the way: 110v is for pansies. Try getting bit by 220v like in Europe. Yow! 8O

I was visiting my father. He lives on a farm and of course, there was a lot of electric fences around there. Me being the oh so uncoordinated person that I am, tripped over my own feet while standing still [don't ask me how, I have no idea] and fell backwards into the fence for about 6 seconds according to my father.

I've been electrocuted.

At camp, the other kids dared me to grab onto an electric fence that was used to contain a large stallion. I did it, of course. I felt my whole body convulse and the next thing I knew, I was lying on the ground several feet away. It didn't hurt; it just felt weird in an uncomfortable way.
