the racism problem....again

Am sure have mentioned this before,but this stupid 'war' against the maine coon cat club logo on bedroom door is still going on by one staff.
For anyone who doesn't know cats-the maine coon is....a cat,they originally came from Maine and it's tail looks very similar to a racoons' which is where the name comes from,am certain biscuit is part coon at the least which started interest in them.

Out of a whole team of staff here including black staff,he is the only one who has a problem with the logo-everyone is saying he is focussing on the 'coon' part and not the rest,and he's being a "childish sod" ['sod' being the only word have heard him called that is WP friendly,but that's also related to the fact he doesn't help residents].

One of the staff has had enough of him coming up here to inspect the door to make sure the blu tac censoring 'coon' is still there [he only comes up to look at it and doesn't usually work here],and she has been taking the censoring off the logo,but he kept putting it back on-tonight she ripped the censoring off again,phoned the home managers who agreed with her,and she phoned the overall manager of learning disability services [he is the manager of all managers in residential care],she's got a meeting with him this week to complain about this.
The fact he has been changing it so often by ripping and sticking censoring on it,and ignoring the staff, has been affecting am,
he also hasn't read the massive magazine article on maine coons am cut out and put right next to the logo [which said coon on nearly every line,so obviously he can't have read it].

He has just been outside the bedroom door [it was closed but can hear everything he says,obviously doesn't know autism] speaking to the [black] night staff who have just come in,he started saying that this was a racist term from the deep south,and did she know that,he said how disgusted he is with the logo on the door,and "how he has every right to rip it off",he was saying he had asked am if he could sensor it [he never asked,he just censored it] and that he thinks am racist because am allowing it to be removed,he never let her focus on the words next to coon either [maine coon cat club] it was only 'coon' he was bothered about.

Am like the lady but he has just spent the night trying to change her opinion of am,he does this with every black staff who works with am,it's unfair because am have never looked at anyone in races.

Also,am hate that he has turned most favourite cat-the maine coon,into some dirty,disgusting word here and how am not even able to appreciate them without thinking it's racist,he is messing with thinking.

Mum,dad and sister have all wanted to come down and complain but am refused this so far as am have to live here.

What am do not understand is he is racist himself [against chinese people] and how can he defend one race being abused,but not another?



Is there laws against having anything on own bedroom door,in residential homes? what laws and other stuff have am got to back this up?

I'm sure any judge would laugh in his face if he tried to bring it to court.

I seriously allege that this ignoramus is harassing you at this point; legitimate complaints of harassment on his part seem to be in order; being a moron should not be accepted as an excuse to constantly harass someone.

Your door, even the outside, is part of your room, it would be improper to try to see if it was open, from the outside, as what happens to the door affects the person within. Holding conversations before your door is surely harassment, no matter what the subject.

I suggest you change the sign to Maine Coon Feline Club.

I think Cat should be reserved for older males who wear black leather motorcycle jackets.

Speaking through your door, touching it, are an invasion, something done to make you uncomfortable.

It sounds like you are being Blackmaled. There is an implied threat in his actions.

You have tried without result, perhaps he needs a new job. Someone rattling your door, mumbled talking through it, should be enough to have him replaced.

Some people look for things to be offended by. If he doesnt take the steps to educate himself about cat breeds then he is the one who should be held responsible for his misunderstanding. How many times can a person explain it. There is no conspiracy among southerners and cats from northern states. Nobody named a cat a 'coon' to be racist. A 'coon' was a nickname for 'raccoon' long before it was dirtied into a racist term. If you have a page explaining the breed right next to the pic, then what is the problem? Does the guy not know how to read? Its a shame he has to assume the world is out to get him.

the guy has every right to have his own opinions, you're not going to change him. if he wants to be offended by the word 'coon' or chinese people or people who wear odd socks in bed then thats his choice. unfortunately you can't stop him trying to change other people's opinions either, that's their choice.

what he's not allowed to do is to deface your property or harass you. it's illegal for him to put blu-tack on your poster, since it's your property. also he knows that it upsets you so it's harrassment too. and him talking loudly outside your room, when he knows you can hear him, is also harrassment. he is wrong when he says "how he has every right to rip it off", he has no right to touch it at all. he can only ask you to remove it, and even then he can only ask you a few times, after that it is harrassment. he's not allowed to keep on asking and asking and going on and on about it.

you would be allowed to have the poster there, unless there's some detail in your tenancy that says not. even then there are rules by the Commission for Social Care Inspection which say you have a right to personalise your own room.

it sounds like your staff are at least doing something to try and get the situation resolved. let us know what happens as a result of the meeting this week.

he used to work in the last res. home am was in, and was moved because he was abusive to Jane [who can give enough of it herself anyway] ,hope he gets moved,as the meeting is about other complaints the staff also have of him as well.

he can read normal sized text as have seen him reading the news paper-the maine coon page can not be missed-it takes up a whole page from cat world magazine,maybe he should tell them they are being racist,and also complain to the GCCF and TICA to say they got the maine coon breed addition wrong.

Why would a person be racist to chinese people,but say he hates racism?
Find this hard to understand,they are all races so should be equal-why is he against one race,but hates racism against another?
