When the phone rings, and I don't feel like talking to whoever it is, I'll hand the phone to my 20 month old son Gage and let him answer. All the while I'm sitting there trying to control my laughter so the person on the phone doesn't hear me. It's great hearing him rattle off random favorite words of his (puppy, mama, bye bye, etc.) while I can vaguely hear the person on the other end asking for my fiance, Bruce. And Gage is just like "Bru? Bye bye!" This is how I amuse myself. It's great. You should try it.

My 8 year old cousin, who has a very bad speech impedement, would answer the phone and no one could understand him.

when my brother was maybe two or three, and my mom was taking a nap, someone called the house. he answered, and the lady on the phone asked where his mommy was.
his response? "making aaaaah baby!"

...'aah-aah ba-by' being the comfort thing mom used to put us down for naps/bedtimes.
mom had some 'splaining to do. fortunately, this was the seventies and social services was NOT immediately called.
